How long did it take you to transcribe this?

If only to transcribe right hand, it takes about half a day or less. The speed accelerates over time, and the real problem is hearing "voicings". That takes bunch a lot of time. (I personally believe hearing the left hand is the most demanding job and a way to develop as a jazz piano man.)

it's quite possible brad checked out Oscar Peterson's solo (also on an E flat blues) on "The Smudge"..especially brad's second chorus. One of oscar's best solos IMO...simple yet swinging very hard and great use of space throughout

Why did you think his solo sounded like it was ending there? It was building energy.

I thought that the phrase was indicating the imminent end of the solo(not the immediate end). The reason why I thought that way was that both the harmonic tension(moving to the stable note of Bb) & rhythmic tension(16th note into half note) were resolved at the end of the phrase. I also thought fill-ins of Brian Blade reflected that. I believe there can be various interpretations to music, and your opinion may be right:)
