There was actually a seismic reaction measured on the Richter scale of millions of Aussies screaming no at KZbin watching you eating the Vegemite. Think of it like soy sauce. You wouldn’t take a big spoonful of that would you? A great introduction is watching Hugh Jackman on the Jimmy Fallon show teaching him how to eat it. It is an acquired taste but very delicious to Australians if you eat it correctly. Enjoying watching you try the Aussie goodies. Chicken salt goes on fries.

With the DVD, try to find a player that is multi-region. Most DVDs with copyrighted material will be encoded to be only viewed on players made for particular regions of the world. Australia is in Region 4 and the US is in Region 1. I believe some players will allow you to play a different region DVD for a limited number of times, and there are/were players manufactured with Region 0 encoded, meaning they can play DVCs from any region. The packaging of the DVD should mention somewhere which region it's encoded for.

The chicken salt you received is Mitani chicken salt. It's the original, and still the best. Apart from sprinking on fresh cooked fries instead of salt, chicken salt is also good on other dishes. Roast chicken, (goes without saying). Or roast pork. A light sprinkle on avocado, Mac and cheese, add to your dry rub for slow cooked BBQ In place of salt. Experiment.

Tim Tam Slam is a must at some stage if you get another packet. We have a chocolate powder called Milo, and you use hot water from a kettle and then add milk. It can be done with other hot beverages too. Then you eat on corner of the Tim Tam and then the opposite corner of the other end, and then use the Tim Tam like a straw to drink your hot cuppa, and then quickly pop the whole biscuit in your mouth and wait for that glorious moment 🎉🎉🎉 PS we also add cold milk to Milo and add it on top of Icecream (yum). As for the chicken salt. It is one of the best inventions on the planet. It can be added to meat to cook, but the most popular way by far, is to add it to fries, or baked potatoes. Devine stuff. In Fish and Chip shops in Australia you are asked if you want salt and vinegar or chicken salt on your hot Chips (or your fries). Arnotts have so many types of biscuits….we pronounce their name like Are-nuts. ANZAC biscuits were made by the families of WWI soldiers, and sent to them overseas. They were made with ingredients that did not go off quickly, being oats, flour, sugar, coconut, and golden syrup. I’m not a fan of Vegemite, but my hubby loves the stuff. You can use it in stews (meat casseroles) with the stock. You definitely had a bit too much. Your bread is different to what we have here, more like a cake than bread. Malteasers use to have an add that used a car on a round about and they would roll around on the dash board of the car. I remember going to the movies and the guy I went with had a box of them inbetween the seats, and he laughed so hard that he accidentally hit the box and they went rolling down the isles. 😂😂😂 then we were laughing even more. Your family is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing them with us. Your daughter was a great help too, opening the packets and reading the slogans and giving more details about the products.

You were very brave 😊 Vegemite has a flavour that the Japanese call Umami - savoury, salty, slightly bitter and a bit like beef bouillon. Personally I reckon the closest taste to Vegemite is soy sauce. It has a really strong flavour, so when you try it on a piece of buttered toast, think of the absolute minimum you think you'll need, then halve it and halve it again. Don't try to cover the whole slice, just a thin smear here and there will do.
