Thank you, Carol. Your tutorial is so peaceful and relaxing. Some other videos are full of noises and too many things going on at once. I enjoy your Etsy store and now your tutorials in KZbin.

Thank you for this. And thanks for not trying to "fill up" the space with repeated bars of music, which is a mistake many KZbinrs make, resulting in instructions one has to strain to hear.

Just starting in Sashiko and it seems like fun! I'd like to try transforming a pattern into a quilt. Your tutorial gets rid of the guilt trip of not having "mathematically correct" sized stitches. Thanks!

I just found this method of stitching! I think this would make a very beautiful bed spread....I know....a very tedious project....but lovely nonetheless. I was wondering if your method of marking lines on that piece of light fabric would also work on say....flannel sheet? I am going to start out with a small project to get the hang of it first but have been wanting something like this to do for a long time. Any suggestions are helpful.

+Marcia Miller Yes, the hera should work just fine on a flannel sheet.

Thanks for sharing!,,,, could you please let me know which fabric exactly are you using and where I can buy it on line? Just as of the Japanese white tool to mark the lines? Will appreciate enormously your reply🙏👌 Merry Christmas and a happy 2019👍🌺💌

I am just now learning about sashiko stitching, do most embroiderers sew at a table or is this for demo purposes?

a well done tutorial - love the look it creates. I have a question regarding using it on a quilt top. do you go through all the layers (top, batting and backing) thus also putting a pattern on the backing or do you just put it through the top and batting? I am asking as I have made a reversible table runner (no batting) with a lovely batik pattern for the top side and plain dark colour for the backing. Thought it would be a great opportunity to try a simple sashiko design on the backing. And just wondered if I need to confine it to the back side only? thank you
@cziogas42596 жыл бұрын
Hi Dianne, you can do either. If using batting, go for a lightweight one. I use bamboo exclusively due to it's texture and how well the needle slides through.

Hi Karen, I haven't done any in a long time but will get back to videos either here on youtube or on Twitch in 2019. Just search for Kimonomomo.

Great instruction. I have a question. I ordered a sashiko needle and received a long and a shorter one. My problem is the tip doesn't seem as sharp as my other needles. Why would it be more dull or is it this particular one is not made correctly? Thanks so much :-)
@Kimonomomo9 жыл бұрын
+Joy Smith If you have the Olympus needles (one long and one short) they are beginners needles and less sharp than most other brands. Loosely woven fabrics are best for these bigger needles and a sharp tip isn't necessary.
@joysmith12139 жыл бұрын
+Kimonomomo You're right, and I will use them then when I have a loose weave. Thanks for making it clearer for me. Enjoy your videos and have subscribed :-)
