I came across your videos three years ago and ever since then have been painting projects using Kimple Translucents. I love the technique and your videos have been extremely helpful. This Santa sleigh was one of my projects. Early on, I actually called you the "sleigh lady" so my husband would know who I was talking about lol. I miss not seeing more recent videos of your beautiful projects. You are truly an inspiration!

Your comment truly touched my heart. I will try to make more videos. Is there a certain item that you would like to see me do?

I'm so glad Ive found you & praying you can possibly help me! My Father in law graciously gifted me several amazing & beautiful vintage santa figurines that his father hand painted every year starting in 1990 very similar to your beauties! but they are in need of some cleaning & paint touch ups just from normal wear over the years & I don't want to do it wrong or god forbid ruin anything ! Any tips and/or products you could recommend to clean and then touch up the paint? I'm sorry for rambling..I've been searching all night for some type of info or video and yours in the first even remotely close to what I've been looking for!! TIA!! ❤

Oh boy, that is a good question about cleaning and paint touch ups. I have never done anything like that, so I'm not sure if I can properly answer. I'm so sorry to not be of help.

Beautiful Don’t you have to base coat?
@lauriegift4813 жыл бұрын
Base coat is not required if you use Kimple's primer or a quality gesso primer. If you don't use a primer, then yes, you would need to apply a base coat using an acrylic paint. I personally love using primers as they are thinner and easier to apply. In particular, I absolutely love Kimple's primer as it is soooo easy to apply. It is the perfect consistency and doesn't dry as quickly as an acrylic paint. I hope I answered your question. Let me know if you have any other questions. Laurie Gift

For this item, it is not necessary as long as you apply several coats of primer. Having said that, it will not hurt anything to apply a base coat as well. I hope that helps.

Just wondering if you can add anything to the Kimble translucent paints if they are old
@lauriegift4815 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I am not aware of a product that can be added to the Kimple Translucents to bring them back to life.

Are the Kimple colors..red, white etc translucents or acrylics?
@lauriegift4813 жыл бұрын
The Kimple colors are all translucent. Similar to Fashenhue translucent if you have used them. Let me know if you have any other questions and I would be happy to answer them.

Glaserceramics.com only has translucent SPICED BROWN. Their other browns are bisque stains. Should I get the SPICED BROWN?
@lauriegift4813 жыл бұрын
Before I answer, are you painting the Santa and Sleigh item?
@lauriegift4813 жыл бұрын
Yep, get spiced brown as it is a very pretty color.
