Hi Kim, thanks for the great video. I'm a newbie to upholstering so this was super helpful. Question....I know that cutting fabric on the bias is the standard/recommended method, but it wastes so much fabric! Does it really make that much difference?

does it matter what size cording? I bought double welt feet and got a pack of 3 sizes for my juki. 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4. the double welt cording says 5/16" I'm confused about what to buy.

I am new to upholstery but have completed several pieces. I am currently reupholstering an antique arm chair. The client wants double cording as opposed to the French trim that was on the chair already. This will be a first for me sewing double cording. Question: In your video, you use two lengths of single cording. The cording I ordered from an upholstery supply is already double. Is there a video for this type? Or do I just wrap both pieces into the fabric and sew? Thanks! I love your videos - so helpful.

Hi Anna Cheung , you would just wrap and sew the both pieces. I find the two pieces give me a more defined double cord, but what you have will look just fine. Thanks for watching, Kim

Thank you so much for another great video.Question, my first cording it larger than second piece right next to it? No matter how "tight" I held the fabric the left side is larger than the right? I checked and the cording is in the grooves and needle centered? do you know why...yours looks like both cording sizes is the same? I'm using 3/16" cording. Thanks.

Hi Cathy, You are probably pushing the fabric to one side more than the other. It is easy to do this without even knowing that is what you are doing. Check out our other tutorials in our online classes kimsupholstery.com for more detailed instruction.

+tolomeo sosa Hola, We cut the fabric in the bias (diagonal) ti make the cording straight. If you cut your fabric straight of grain it tends to curl the finished cording. Why can't you staple the double cording?

Thanks for the helpful video. I was surprised to see you use hot glue to attach the cording. Is this common in upholstery work? I have always considered hot glue to be a crafter's tool, and not very durable.

Robert Wood We use a high temp hot glue for double cording and gimp. Works well and is strong. It bonds to fabric well. Kim
