Short video shares the process in how our family performs and honors the Navajo cultural tradition of the coming of age celebration. In the few days, our young girl will be instructed by her family female role models; guiding, mentoring, and teaching long life lessons. Home etiquette - cooking tools, grinding, butchering, bread making, and mixing navajo cake. Body molding/massage is very important as her mom, aunts, and grandmothers will teach her healthy ways to care for herself and be a well-rounded, strong female in the future. All other family members join to show support, love, and restore their lives through the blessings given by the young Kinaalda girl.

Heart felt thanks to all the brothers and sisters who keep the traditions alive. My granddaughters coming of age was hidden and not discussed…it broke my. my heart that it was not celebrated but something that shouldn’t be talked about

Very beautiful. Thxs for sharing. I wish I did alot when I became a young lady. I never butchered a sheep or been in any of that process. The environment look beautiful as I had mean aunts who just yelled at me thru my whole process.
