Love this program. The sounds of nature, the slow relaxed pace, George Page's calm narration. Brings back memories of lazy Sunday evenings. Good stuff.

Wow! Hearing the music into just brought me back to the 1980's again. Sunday nights, around 7 or 8PM if I remember. Geez. simpler times. Strangely enough, I'm back in the same house where I used to watch those shows. My late grandmother's RCA TV was what I watched it on. I just demolished that TV a few years ago. It still worked fine, but it was outdated. Couldn't watch cable on it or anything else anymore. Just the standard UHF/VHF channels, 1-13. And even back then, not all of those channels were accessible. Certainly not channel 1, 3, 8, 10, rarely channel 6 or 12. But I used to watch "The Nature of Things, with David Suzuki", then right after that, was "Nature", with George Page.

I grew up with George Page. His voice is very soothing and he is like a father reading a story to his child.

He was born just a 45 minute drive away from where I live. Good to see and hear all these years later.

Brings back memories, like the others have said. Wish these would be remastered and preserved.

I miss him too. The present day Nature programs, with their musical background, and superficial treatment of the subject is so far inferior to what George did.

Shocking that the area on the mountain, and the native plants, were not named after the tribal people indigenous to the area. I would have made a move to rename them, giving them names of those from the indigenous people's culture. I am sure that those indigenous people have individuals from their recorded history, that could be memorialized.

Of coarse not. Give credit to the original people that knew about them way before us.thst would be doing it the right way. But all we want out there is fame and attention, the others just imagined it as sacred from the gods. Wich it definitely is.
