chiarazero8 I was wondering the same things and also "how is strawberry a berry?" But then I thought of the strawberry. So I checked. I found out several things. One which we were right about, berries are totally fruits (did you know bananas, cucumbers and eggplants were berries, though? Cause I didn't) but also strawberry is neither a berry nor a fruit.

chiarazero8 So from what I gathered, the strawberry is an accessory fruit. The red fleshy part isn't formed from the pistil but from other part of the flower and the achenes (the little "seeds" on the fleshy red part) are the actual fruit.

okay i paused the video for this. deep breath. berries are aggregate fruits. strawberries are not fruits or berries (technically) they're 'fleshy receptacles' the fruit is the tiny seeds which are called achenes. THE MORE YOU KNOW. also... don't correct people on these things unless they start in on this conversation 😂 because we have lots of widely accepted fruit and vegetable untruths. eg corn and green beans are 'vegetables' but by definition they are actually fruits and bananas are actually berries. once you start down this road you can NEVER GO BACK.
