KINDERGARTEN HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUM PICKS | 2023 - 2024 School Year | Secular Homeschool Curriculum

We will be using Handwriting without tears All about reading level 1 (this may change) I’m giving it some more time to see if it’s the best fit Core Knowledge has math now! So I’m seeing if it’s a good fit. We tend to love core knowledge Finishing get ready for the code book C and once finished go into explode the code book 1 Memoria press enrichment charter version. It’s their secular version. So far my boys love most of their books so I’m sticking with that for now. It includes poetry music and science. If that doesn’t work out my plan is to go with core knowledge language arts and science.

We go with my kids pace so my youngest is still working on kindergarten and still will be in September!!! She’s doing it at a slower pace!!! We love math u see and I’ve been hearing a lot about math with conference!!! I found digital curriculum cheaper due to using it with all my kids!!! We are doing AAR with her as well!!! I think it’s awesome for her!!! She’s not doing science but we are doing Aussie studies with her and she’s loving exploring the caves with aboriginal art and she’s trying to do it more than my older kids!!!

You know I'm a huge believer in moving at the child's pace!! It is so important. One of the biggest lessons I have learned from homeschooling. You also know I like to easy into thing and keep it simple when they are starting out. It sounds like you guys are having a lot of fun and inspiring a really love for learning! Love that!

MWC is a secular program. I have all 3 levels that have been released, its completely secular, no issues at all or any parts that are questionable

MWC is definitely secular but I heard Math U See isn't. Shanna of Making Everyday Magic had mentioned it in a video one but it wasn't anything that bothered her or was easily omitted. It might be worth checking with her so you know where to expect it. We're spreading kindergarten over 2 years. We use and love MWC and AAR. Also using Blossom and Root Level 0 but I'm (my kid) not loving it like I though I would. I can't wait to hear about how you work history out!

Thanks for sharing! Glad you guys have found things are working well for you guys! We have used Math U See from the beginning of our homeschooling journey with my older two. In the many levels I we have done, I have only come across one question that talked about the kids at church. So while it is not secular, I still feel comfortable using it. MWC is new to us, but we are loving it so far. History video coming soon! Thanks for watching!

We are using Pinwheels, MWC 2nd grade, MUS Beta, (I like to check out both programs 🤷🏻‍♀️) Blossom and Root Level 1, and Core Knowledge history for my 6 year old daughter. I’m anxious to see how CC goes. I might use it in the future.

You are not alone... I like to check out multiple programs too. LOL. Looks like you guys have a solid line up and it's going to be a good year! I've been looking through CC and am really liking what I see. I do not have the actually book yet, so I can't say for sure, but I do think we are going to like it!

We have been using Math with Confidence (level K and Level 2) and I have not seen anything that I would consider non-secular in the program.

@@Homeschoolology We do enjoy it! I did level K with my (now) 8 year old, and then tried Singapore Dimensions and Beast Academy for his first grade year, before circling back to use Math With Confidence 2nd Grade, this year. I have also been using level K, for a second time, this year with my 5 year old and I do think it is a more perfect fit her than it was/is for my 8 year old, mostly because she loves games and it is full of them. The program is on the gentle side, officially this is my 5 year old’s Pre-K year, and she will be doing the 1st Grade level, this coming school year as a Kindergartener. We did do level K for my son’s Kindergarten year, but the following year, when we tried out Dimensions for first grade he needed to start in their KB level rather than 1A.

LOL. I know the feeling! That is the one thing about finding things so early. It gives me too much time to find something else. I have to make myself stop looking. HAHAHA
