You don't have to own both Audio book and the e-book to get whisper sync. You just have to own the Audiobook (via Audible) and borrow the book (through Libby, for ex.) and have it sent to your Kindle. Both Whsipersync and immersion are available for this.

@@joshua_david4383 Yes but the immersion feature only works on the Kindle app on phone or tablet, not on the Kindle. Also on the Kindle you can only use Audible or the reading app separately not together.

Thank you sooo much. I am really enjoying this synchronised version on the Kindle App so much that I am really frustrated that on my Scribe there is the Only Read / Only Listen possibility - I am really hoping that this will change soon.

I downloaded audible version of a book on my Kindle paperwhile signiture. When i clicked the "play" button, nothing happened, and seconds later I got an error message saying "failed to open audible file". Please help!! TT I made sure my Kindle is connected to my airpods successfully.

Immersive reading can be very useful for those struggling to concentrate and/or read - so it's a nice feature to have. There are ways to have a screen reader handle it, but an audiobook is normally better produced - so that's great. As a quick note - some of the features you mention are region-locked. So they aren't globally available (for example, here in Canada we have different "stores" due to Publisher constraints. As a long-time Amazon/Audible/Comixology member, my library management can get very interesting at times :)

The region locked features is quite annoying. It amazes me how different things can be depending where you live. I hope this changes over time!

Immersive reading used to be on the Kindle Touch when it first came out and then when the paperwhites came out they removed that feature on the Kindle Touch. I am still awaiting its return. I may get a Boox because I really loved that feature.

I stopped using my Kindle because I don’t enjoy it. In the beginning, on my first kindle, when you finished a book you could return the book to the first page(in case you wanted to read it again), then move the book to a library area. However, after two years on my third Kindle, I still can’t figure out how to do that, so I just stopped buying books

If you press the menu button while reading a book that looks like a bunch of lines, it will open up the navigation shortcut. You can jump back to the beginning there, or any other chapter or page number. Also, on your Kindle Home Library Screen, press the three dots on a book cover and you’ll see an option to mark a book as unread (or read). I hope this helps!
