I've been so resistant to reading digitally.. but when I thought about how many books I own and how many I still want to read, I realized that the most efficient way to achieve my goals with reading is to get a kindle. This way I won't have to worry about having a library due date or having to acquire more and more books with the limited space I have, and I don't have to worry about trying to fit multiple books in my luggage while traveling.

I feel like an extreme nerd, but my favorite book has been The neuroscience of human relationships. It is a bliss and 650 pages of pure wisdom. As a psychoanalyst I felt like I was reading the best novel ever, even it being a practical and theoretical book. I loved it! That's what kindle gifts me, since I speak and read 5 languages, having access to a book without having to wait for months and selling a kidney to pay for importation fees, I can simply have access to book on the clic of a hand and a scanning of my fingerprint to pay for it!!! Love them! So thankful for them too
@DaviAreias4 жыл бұрын
I actually also just bought a kindle because I wanted to read a book called "Affective neuroscience" which would cost $80, then suddenly it occurred to me that I could save time and money having a kindle instead of importing books. I mostly read business books and most of them are just not worth having (50% of them is just repetition/filler info) compared to classics and deeper books.

I don’t read any physical books anymore. I hate carrying a book, reading in bed with one and you can’t read one in the bath. All my books are kindle books but I definitely agree with you that seeing a book shelf with a bunch of books makes me look at someone with more respect. I read like 3-4 books a week but no one would know it since they are all kindle books lol. Also the way you hold that thing is why you break them 😂

One thing I enjoy about getting older is that you finally learn it doesn't matter what other people are doing or what you're doing as long as you enjoy. I love reading books on my Kindle and reading physical occasionally if it's an older book and I can't get it on Kindle.

I was never a reader, I picked up a kindel now I'm up to 4-5 books a month. The game changer for me was you pick the font and size of the text. That was huge for me. I also read alot at night and don't want to disturb my wife.

I bought a Kindle because I didn't want to clutter my place with books and it's more convenient for traveling. Also, helping the environment on reducing paper. However, I don't feel disciplined to read on my Kindle or tablet. I noticed that I read more with physical books. To each his own:)

I have a been a reader since before my teens, i am a mom now and i have bought my 2nd kindle just last month and we also bought a kindle for my stepdaughter too. I'm really late and never comment anything but I just want to say that - My favorite book right now is The memory book - I bought a Kobo Libra H2O in march, because of covid and I had (a lot) more spare time to read and I've read 17 books this year which is a personal record for me!! - Prices are lower for Ebooks and the price are really good (never bought a lot of books because $$, I was always going to the library) - It is easier to hold like you said, I read in wierd positions too :-) - THE BEST THING : I can read in low lightening or just in complete dark in my bed without having a headache because you can adjust the lightening (it removes blue light) I still miss the feeling of having a book in your hands and turning the pages too, it's so satisfying!! Also, beach clubs? That sounds so coooool Also if you have read this far, I speak french so I hope this was clear and understandable enough

I am always intrigued by the fact that, despite of having e-readers such as kindle and the rest, the most enthusiastic readers always buy books, knowing that a tree needs to cut down to make the book, like seriously where does all their knowledge go that their conscience allows them to buy books ? i switched to kindle 10 years ago, and am still using it. Never have I felt the need to buy a physical book after reading from kindle. My conscience doesn't allow me to purchase a physical book as I very well know, it's a tree that has sacrificed it's life.

Letting go by David R. Hawkins (same guy that wrote power vs force), Levels of energy by Fredrick Johnson. They are both very similar so I recommend both rather than picking one or the other. Those have permanently changed my life and gave me a new lens on how I see the world. Those books and power of now is where the RSD guys get most of their shit from. The rational male by Rollo Tomassi caught me at the right time and has a similar effect so that's definitely up there, everything by Robert Greene and Ryan Holiday, how to win friends and influence people For copywriting making ads pay by John Caples

I love the smell of books, grabbing a page from ones to ones and standing in the library or my room full of books around me But I'd rather go with kindle because... 1.English isn't my first language and kindle really help me with having smart words function so i can save my time opening dictionary on laptop or phone (and writing it on the book) due to the reading. 2.Kindle is really convenient for me when i go study far from home. In case, i want to bring a lot of books from home going with me or i wanna bring books from the dorm (both from home and new ones) going back home with me. 3.I love that kindle have the light mode itself 'cause when i go with the paper book, i've to reach out the proper light for the paper but when i have kindle this's not my problem anymore. i can sit or lay on any corner of my house during reading 4.I likes collecting books and really care about them! When i've to study far from home i'm really worry about it. Like if my house were flood, get on fire or one day i've to live foreign country, who'll take care of my babies. But when i use kindle all these things are solve.
