Ereaders are great. Being able to read a book while lying down, holding an ereader that weighs 100x less than a small book, while it's pitch black in the room, is incredible. Not to mention it allows you to annotate, highlight, take notes, look up definitions with a press etc etc. On top of that you can carry thousands of books with you where ever you go.. ebooks rock

I'm in my 50's now and I am trying to get back into reading. But you feeling that bound book took me right back to my childhood in the 1970's. I haven't thought about it in decades but I remember a big book of stories that my parents used to read to me. It was brown and very tatty with the spine broken. I guess it had been used to tell stories to many people before me. But I loved that book at the time.

The electronic reader is a waste to buy in india.it costs 150$at least and you have to pay at least 5$for each book u want to read on it.+u gotta charge it.) *from the prespective of a 16 y/o*

Well, I read paper backs mostly, because they are very affordable,, but hardbacks are really nice too cause they dont bend or break their spines easily and i can open the whole book well. I think kindle can be very useful for frequent travelers and people who stay up all night reading books, because we can read while the lights are off on kindle. So for me, Paperback - (4/5) Hardback - (4/5) Kindle- (3.5/5)

I don't know why English paperback books have to be so compact and thick. I can never go through a book without bending it's back. Chinese books, on the other hand, usually have bigger pages (15cm x 21cm usually) and hence thinner. The glue thingy in the back also seeps deeper s. It's almost impossible to bend the back. Another plus is that the covers in the front plus back have an extra fold that's folded in which protects the corners from being bunched up.

I think the biggest feature of the Kindle is that you can carry as many books with you as you would like. Say you're reading two or three books at a given time and want to have access to them all without going home. It's also obviously easier--and free--to get books on an e-reader. Physical books will always be more tactile, and I like having shelves of them to look at and casually draw from, but e-readers are a near infinite degree superior in most other respects.
