Some tips: 1) To avoid raiders: You're right that scavenging alerts the raiders. BUT! You *can* scavenge a bunch-just don't send them out on expeditions immediately after coming back.That is specifically what alerts the raiders. Wait several days, maybe 5-7 days if you can manage. Do this, and the raiders will *never* show up. 2)When somebody returns from an expedition, thirst resets but they're almost always hungry. Only give food. Save water! 3) Feed a family member when the game tells us they're absolutely starving. If you don't, they'll get sick.

I played this game on my phone, and I got to day 56 without Timmy, but the way I lost was I couldn't get a medkit for Mary Jane, so she left, and she didn't turn into a mutant when I tried, and then I sent Delores on a mission and she got kidknapped, and then I went on a mission and someone overtook my bunker so yea... Oof.
