Hey there my beautiful friends! The ironic part of the trivia for today is I’m almost sure I know this. If I’m not mistaken the first Christmas 🎄 cards were sold in England in 1843. I read along time ago that they were sent out to keep from having to send out letters to all of the friends my the original sender. I believe this was a man who was a big art supporter (I could be completely misremembering all this…but I know I read this somewhere…🙄) Anyway… Thank you for sharing your experience with Etsy! I’ve been disappointed with a few purchases on there. Moving into 2025, my plan is to only purchase patterns from creators who have a social media that I can reach out to them on before I buy a pattern. That way I can know a bit more about their writing style (and maybe pattern design) before I buy anything. 💖💖💖

I think that is a fabulous idea! You are correct! And it happened the same week A Christmas Carol was published!

@ wow!!! I can’t begin to tell how funny it is that I actually remembered that. I think one of my high school teachers told me that Keep in mind I graduated high school in 1988 😳

I really would like to see more of a pattern before I buy it, but then that wouldn't work because, of course, some people would steal or not be honest and that's not fair to the designer, but this one pattern that one of my stepdaughters has requested for me to make for the kids, as seen on a Tik Tok video, lol, is currently $25 for the pattern on Etsy, and I have been hesitant to buy it because that's a chunk of change to me, lol, and what if the pattern stinks ... you made some very interesting points ❤😊❤

Yes that's a chunk of change for sure! When you decide you're ready to buy it put it in your Etsy cart and then wait. You will get a discount code. Or watch if they have a blog and you can sometimes find they put them on sale, especially now that they are preparing for a new year. Look and see if they have a blog or website. Often you can find the same paid for patterns on those for free with ads, which is still supporting them.

@kkcrochet That's very good advice, I didn't know that putting it in the cart and waiting may get me a discount, Thank you so much 💖🤗💖

I would like to know more about a pattern before buying it. I have bought patterns that after purchasing and actually reading the pattern will not make the design. It's on me. Merry Christmas and blessings to you and your family
