Kinds of Feathers in Birds

According to various forms, function and locations feathers are divided into several types. In pigeon only quills, coverts, contours, filoplumes and down feathers are found in pigeon.
They are:
I) Quill or flight feathes
a) Remiges
b)Rectrices
c)Coverts
II) Contour feathers
III) Filoplumes
IV) Down feathers
Rictal bristle and tactile bristles are also found in bords.
