Sir Do we can say that, indeterminate structure (fixed support) are analysed for partially collapse condition, in kinematic method?

In the last example, beam with varying moment capacity, at center you have taken Mp as moment capacity. Can we get the same result by taking 2Mp as on the left of junction? What changes in the angles should be made to arrive at the same result?

Will you please explain example 12.15 (In the same book you are using) because in that case maximum value of collapse load is adopted

In the calculating for the collapse load why do we always take the smaller MP but not the bigger one And why do we also take the bigger lander but no the smaller one

But In case of fixed beams, D's=3 and No. Of Optimum hinges required= D's+01=4 02 plastic hinges @, each fixed support, 3rd plastic hinge under point load and where 4th plastic hinge is.? So can we say indeterminate structure are partially collapse

I believe that there was a mistake on the exercise around 16:00 min ... the total internal Work supposed to be Mp.teta1+ Mp. teta 2+ Mp (teta1+teta2)

theta 2 is forming near mechanical hinge which was there from start, so there is no need to include that hinge rotation for int work

because the beam is not prismatic its stiffne EI is more because c/s area is more therefore the moment carrying capacity has also increased

In the first mechanism, we assumed the plastic hinge to form below the load where the moment capacity available was 2Mp whereas in the 2nd mechanism we have considered a plastic hinge at the mid section where moment capacity was Mp only which is why we have considered a plastic hinge with a moment capacity of Mp.

Abhiram Hebbar at middle, two portions of different moment capacity are meeting...... when moment at that middle section will increase( due to increasing load) then weaker portion (i.e. with capcity Mp will tend to fail obviously)..So at middle section Mp is used and not 2Mp.
