Of so many King Air vids, these 3 regarding this trip are the best! I discovered them 5 yrs ago as I was in training and have been flying a C90 for 4yrs now and enjoy these now as much as I did when I was in training. Very professional- No background music, good views as pilot and as passenger, something pilots rarely get to view, and a professional, casual yet confident pilot. Thanks for sharing (and for keeping them up.

+Peter Mendoza Yea this is the best I have seen too. Wonder what year this was made. Did a lot of flights and flight training out of APA back in the day. Keep the shiny side up!

Will do! As a matter of fact,tomorrow morning,lol! KCDW NJ to West Charleston to Teterboro then back to base. You too have fun and fly safe!

Yea. He stated he had runway in sight so he canceled IFR to allow the space for someone else. And even tho he canceled IFR, he mentioned MDA because its a safer bet to continue by using the numbers, especially since he already knew them. I fly the baby version,C90 and do the same thing. With CAVU(ceiling and visibility unlimited)not much left for ATC to do. You're always ultimately responsible. Aviate,navigate,then communicate.

very nice...just watched all 3 videos...this thing doesn't seem all that much more complicated than your average light twin

@paisaca17 It's part of a short-field landing procedure. If a pilot thinks a runway is too short, he/she makes the approach at a slower speed than normal, and retracts flaps and applies brakes upon touching down. That is, that's the procedure for single-engine piston aircraft, I'm not sure if there are any additional steps for multi-engine turboprops.

at802, If you don't cancel IFR (considering you're in widespread VFR), you tie up that airpace and prevent anyone from arriving or departing IFR before you close your flight plan, which is discourteous. If it is severe clear everywhere, and you are arriving at an untowered airport, cancel IFR. ATC appreciates it and so do other pilots. FYI, ATC still can see you when you cancel.

22echomike, I got my flight sim, King Air 350 on the same course, mine is much simpler though, but this is great learning, I can probably use some of it in my aircraft, but I do not have TACAN unfortunately CAPT.

Put the flaps up because it kills the extra lift they produce. Typically though you leave them down until you exit the runway that way you focus does not change.
@mdw1597 жыл бұрын
Patrick Teszler keep flaps down,,, it provide a lot of drag to help plane slowing down...

Telluride is a dangerous airport

@paisaca17 On second thought, it's a pretty long runway, but it's also icy, so he probably wanted to reduce his ground roll without heavy brakes to avoid sliding.

Pulling the flaps up takes away the extra lift and helps "settle" the plane on the ground. Larger aircraft with speed brakes or spoilers on top of the wing would deploy those on touchdown to help push the main gear to the ground on touchdown. if you don't have the spoilers, you can retract the flaps.
@mdw1597 жыл бұрын
Butch Tyrone Why you retract the flaps upon touchdown...??? It is better to keep it down hence it's provide a lot of drag which helping to slow down airplane..

0:51 - Dude you cancelled your IFR then you start talking about MDA, why do pilots in US cancel IFR prior to arrival? Isn't half the point of IFR that ATC maintains continuos active surveillance of you throughout the flight for safety?

why the pilots question about ifr ?
