Blessings! The Gayatri Mantra is an ancient, powerful chant from the Rg Veda (3.62.10), calling upon the divine light of the Sun (Savitur) for spiritual wisdom and guidance. It was once kept secret and passed down only to the most dedicated students. The mantra asks for the light of Jah to illuminate our minds and lead us on the righteous path: Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ, tat savitur vareṇyaṃ, bhargo devasya dhīmahi, dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt. I and I call upon Jah, the Almighty, the ever-living King of the Earth, Sky and Heavens, for guidance through trial and tribulations. Jah is the source of life, the light in the darkness, the strength in the storm. I and I meditate on Jah’s goodness, His divine glory, His power, and His strength, seeking His presence within.
