Dutch work ethic? I don't know, we have a lot of time off, I think it's more like, We do what we have to do, and we do it good. Then we take the time off to enjoy our work.

I have worked with many countries in Europe, Dutch Work ethic is similar to American work ethic, and very dissimilar to european work ethic (Germany excluded). You work hard and take responsibility.

@@BakjeLeip indeed! Work 4 days but work really hard and focussed, also put in extra time in those 4 days when needed. Fridays I'm off and I don't want to be bothered for more than 10 minutes that day with work. I enjoy it better that way, even though I make 20% less income than I could.

No they don't, well maybe they do but it surely has no result seeing most Germans are lousy in English, Spanish and Italians mostly speak or understand any English, my mate from Rome graduated from university, had a 9 for English but my 74 year old mom speaks better English then he does. I've been all over Europe and the only places, next to GB and Ireland, where most of the people speak proper English or something close to it are the Scandinavian countries, the Baltic countries, the Lower countries and Greece. Oh and the French understand if the want to..... but simply refuse to speak any foreign language and certainly no 'merde Anglais'.
