I love Leodegrance & I've been using him non-stop. I basically power-pushed the Ice Wall ability, & it breaks battles. As long as I leave a tiny piece of the battle field open, the enemies all try to run around the wall, conveniently running into my choke point holdouts - Sir Mordred & the White Knight. The best part is, the AI will target spells at the Ice Wall over my actual units! I mean, I'm clearly exploiting a fault in the AI, but you wouldn't believe how easy that one ability makes certain battles!

Agree with your disposition on the class as a whole; currently running leodegrance as my only sage & he's still extremely strong despite having no special traits. Morgawse is def. S tier. Feels like cheating to have her & Mordred on the same team.
@maxxalos12672 жыл бұрын
Yea, every time I do a Rightful run I still use Leodegrance at least a little because an early game Sage is quite useful. Glad to see other people agreeing with me on my Morgawse take lol.

For my personal experience and playstyle, I‘d swap Isolde and Lucan. When I used Isolde, she was always being targeted, enemies really went out of their way to attack her, since she has no defensive skills other than Globe of Protection. Keeping her unharmed was basically the biggest and most involved challenge every single turn 😂 Lucan on the other hand was rarely targeted due to Mage Armour and how the AI prioritizes targets based on armour value. Now if the AI would get changed to consider that his big armour value is gone after two attacks connecting, then I would have to reconsider my statement… 🙂
@csward53802 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Although I didn't have access to Lucan, Between Gwen, Morgawse, and Isolde, Isolde was the most meh. I didn't unlock all of her skills before I had to give her the boot, but her kit isn't as good.

The decision gets easier when you take bless and morgawse's better damage out of the comparison(They're ultimately used for the same thing). You're really only picking between AP+tile presence and true battlefield control. I think the toss up between Morgawse and Guinevere largely hinges on whether your main DPS is a vanguard or champion. If you're running a vanguard, take Guinevere. You'll need the AP and the two will synergize well post-round 1 for cleaning up the ranged. If you run champion take Morgawse because her debuffs and icewall can really help manipulate enemies into situations where the champion's AoE does what it does best. Edit: This changes if teleport ends up being usable on other targets and not just self(Divinity: Original Sin). Guinevere immediately goes into S+ tier and you should never consider another sage or even slotting her out for any character, lol.

Well said and I think a good distinction! As for your last part, I hope teleport is never castable on another hero lol, like you said that would be absolutely nuts haha.

Who do you think are the best heroes for duels? I think it is Sages since they can give themselves more AP with Inspire, buff damage with Bless, cut armor and grant vulnerability with Freezing Attack then Strike for tons of damage all in one turn. Then next turn if they don't die you can use Globe of Protection to tank a hit and just Strike it out until they die.
@maxxalos1267 Жыл бұрын
Defenders are usually safe choices in most stages of the game, their high survivability usually just lets them trade blows safely. Vanguards are really good if you're good at predicting AI pathing. With bear traps they'll basically never reach you. Certain Arcanists can also cc them to death.
@dodang_9147 Жыл бұрын
Depends what you mean by duelling. If you mean fighting isolated fights with duel modifier, then vanguards. their mobility and hidden ability allow them to easily pick isolated fights and assassinate back-line. If you mean duelling as in face-tanking fights, then defenders. If you want a character that spams CC and is front-liner that almost never dies. you could try Gawain. He has freezing strike, Shield charge for mobility and is extremely tanky. He also has recurbate which is better globe of protection. So if your just looking for a character that sits frontline and spams CC mindlessly until opponent dies. Definitely Gawain. Sages are more about their battery AP generation gameplay. with relic item, you can reduce bless by -1 cooldown and all support skills by -1. if you do not improve inspire cd, you can spam inspire every 2nd turn and bless every turn. this is really good for arcanist in particular because they have bad ap distribution costs on their skills. Like Morgana has 4+5+3, Merlin has 8+5 on meteor/drake, Ector has 5+6+3. These character benefit from extra AP on bless every turn and inspire AP. it increases their max AP pool allowing them to pump their spells out and really dominate once they gain access to the mindstorm skill. Morganwse is only exception. She does not give AP to allies, Instead she denies AP from enemy. This is only really good if your playing champions. Her storm ability allows to spam shock on entire enemy front-line and cluster up melee units while lowering hp simultaneously.

@DODANG_ 914 I mean when the story tells you to pick a knight to duel with. Vanguards are probably the worst pick for it since I dont think you can backstab. Defenders would take much longer than Sages. Sages are the fastest so far in my experience. Sages also take 0 damage doing it.
@dodang_9147 Жыл бұрын
@@quickpawmaud champions honestly. they have high armor, high armor break and high damage. Morgawse is good at dueling for sage because she has ice shield, a ranged attack opener and freezing strike when enemy goes for melee.
@quickpawmaud Жыл бұрын
@DODANG_ 914 Champions are terrible at it in Act 2 at least since they can't one shot it takes 2 turns at least sometimes 3. Lady Isolde can do it in 1 turn or 2 taking 0 permanent damage.

i did old faith tryant run on very hard, had morga and isolde on the same teaam combo was really good i did want a inspire class but isoldee with teleport ring can one shot anyone with damage on chill/freeze equipment if teleport behind too i think damage morg is underrated as well i had 15 percent chance to do double damage on sword with the 10 percent essence going full damagr spec with 25 percent crit aint no joke
@csward53802 жыл бұрын
I think Morgoss is way better than Gwen, but that's just me. I can't remember why. Inspire is good, but that's all Gwen does really. Morgoss takes over the map. I didn't get to the last tier of skills for Gwen before I cut her though, so maybe that makes Gwen better. Fairy Knight should be here too since he skills into both classes. :)

Isolda Ice lance cant be resisted even with 100% mental or physical resist. TP uśefull but not make character broken you never should be in enemy melee range anyway, only appling buffs and CC from range.
@maxxalos12672 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say never. Generally I keep them at range, but there are certain benefits to going into melee depending on the Sage as well.
@kingbirdIII2 жыл бұрын
It must just be play style but I literally see this completely the opposite of you. I prefer the extra defenses, utilizes and buffs from my sage and think their damage output and teleports are not necessary. I want them to bless, inspire, and stay in range to provide armor buffs and pick up orbs .
@JohnSmith-zf3yk2 жыл бұрын
I don't really find reactive/defensive playstyles in turn-based games very effective. Getting the initiative in these is almost always the best play to make. Setting up for a turn 2 nova in this game is just less time consuming and more efficient than turn 1 chip, turn 2 receive, turn 3 finish. King Arthur: Knight's Tale doesn't have any hard initiative reset mechanics like turn-based card games(MTG and the like). The initiative won in isometric RPGs is there to stay and any damage done is permanent + easily snowballed.
@kingbirdIII2 жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-zf3yk well I set up turn 1 with a 7 length ice wall and a smoke bomb and saving 3 ap on my damage dealers and then using your champion (white knight) to snowball a round 2 wipe by literally eliminating the ice wall with ground slam and one shot teleporting to wipe everything. The defensiveness helps when you can finish a boss or a huge elite or when you are fighting multiple waves you can't cc monsters that spawn in and attack on their first turn . You can also use the ice wall as a massive freeze when destroying it and damage stacking your champion simultaneously. I don't consider sage for damage you can burn some ap sure but what does that matter if my team is completely concealed?
@kingbirdIII2 жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-zf3yk but I understand everyone has their own play style. After 260 hours with this game I've found the most op setup for me playing on the hardest difficulty and considering wave fights, ambushes, bosses, and orb collection that double sage, vanguard, champion is best. I use both Lucan and Leodegrance with Tristan and White Knight and I rarely take Vitality damage and collect every orb with ease
