Just did my inaugural shave with the razor and blades this morning, after grabbing the last one and transparent cream yesterday. I like it about 1/2 a tad better than my Gillette Heritage. Very impressed with it so far, just as I am with not having a drop or slip due to the partial knurling.

Great shave Kevy. I picked mine up yesterday from my local Walgreens got a great deal five finger discount. I walked in wearing sunglasses and my government enforced face mask. I grabbed the razor got lucky an elderly woman was walking by with no face mask. I yelled out "She's not wearing a mask and not social distancing". That's when two employees came by along with security and tackled her down to the ground. That's when I took my chance dipped into the candy section opened up the box grabbed the razor and put it into my pocket. I'm so happy I hope Gillette makes more razors available at brick and mortar stores. Imagine the money we can save on RAD.

Good evening Kevy! We shared a similar experience with this King C Gillette shaving gear. I got a close and comfortable shave with zero blood or blemishes. I did use D.R Harris Arlington soap. 11 hours and still smooth cheeks and chin. Take care.

It's great seeing the APShaveCo cashmere in action, Kevy. I've got the 30 mm version and it's far and away my favorite synthetic. It even rivals my favorite naturals. It's great for face lathering with those dense, soft fibers, and it loads and releases enough suds for 5 passes. Enjoy yours! On the lockdown, New York State is handling things about as sensibly as anywhere in the US. We're around the size of the UK, and there are vast differences within the state. New York City and its surrounding counties will remain unchanged for the time being, but on Friday a phased reopening begins in five upstate regions, with monitoring to see how it affects the infection rate. To answer your question, Kevy, the new Gillette razor has its own little section within the razor area. There are many other appurtenances associated with the razor release, such as a beard oil, beard balm, clear shaving gel, and, of course, replacement blades. All of these items bear the King C. Gillette name and packaging. In addition, there is also a King C. Gillette multi-blade cartridge razor as well as an electric trimmer. The line goes well beyond just the DE razor and blades.

Another great video. Thanks Kevy. I picked up the Gillette razor on Thursday but haven’t shaved since I got it. Hopefully, I’ll shave with it today and not only the face, but the bald patch as well. The display in the store was a cardboard display sitting on the shelf with the same color scheme as the razor and blade boxes. Only Gillette products were within that display. They had this razor, blades and then their cartridge razors and cartridges. It took up about three feet on the shelf. So, see you on the next shave.

I suspect that these blades are either Astra's or Ruby's. Both have a platinum coating and the serial numbering as these KCG blades do. Gillette Platinums do too, but they have a virtually unmarred surface (no horizontal lines). Then again, the heritage shipped with Gillette Platinum blades, so maybe these are the same blades in a fancy pants tuck. Is the head of this razor really different than on the heritage? You used a Spoiler blade on that. Doesn't the Spoiler make any razor shave like butter? The difference in aggression might be down to the blade? Nice review, as always. Thanks.

I definitely like this King C. Gillette compared to the Heritage.The efficiency is well suited for heavier beards, and the blade exposure is of a much more proper geometry. The elder base A&E soap still reigns supreme in my estimation; when compared to the new formulation. The blade? I can't give an honest critique without witnessing it perform in the Rocca, The Home Like Start, Rockwell 6S, or the CX-316L. I then can say nay, or go and order some tucks, or a deck of 100. That being said, it did perform nicely during today's session. My lock-down has been eased somewhat by the Texas state governor. I nevertheless stay at home as much as possible. I hadn't realized that five years have passed since Riley B. King's death. Even with this modern-day plague upon us, time seems to be blowing past like the winds of a great tempest. I see by you subscriber odometer that you're less than forty away from ten-thousand! Quite a milestone to say the least. Please extend my warmest greetings to your Mrs, and the ever rambunctious, but loving, Riley. Cheers!

I have only used this razor for a couple of shaves and I really don't like it. Mainly for the handle and weight balance. I think the head is fine but the balance, 70g for the handle and about 32g for the head, makes it feel very unbalanced for me. I also don't like the knurling only being on the top half of the handle makes it so I have to choke up on the handle a lot. I think you can get a lot of better razors for the same or less money than this one. I have watched a couple of reviews and it feels like people want to give it more if a chance since it is a big name company bringing back DE shaving to the masses. That is all well and good but I don't think this is the razor that is going to do it. Thanks for the review and the intro to a new shave soap, and brush. That was some impressive lather. Kevy, great review. But I have to disagree with you. I think the King C Gillette razor shaves much better than the Heritage. It's all in the weight of that handle. That's why its a more aggressive but very smooth shave. This is now my daily driver over my DE89 and Slim Adjustable.

I bought the New Wilkinson classic and the two times I've used it, it sliced me up really badly!! Just can't get on with it. Just getting into different de razors after 30 odd years using a de razor because I had to shave. It is now an interest of mine along with all the different soaps and brushes. I think this razor will be fine for people who just want a shave because they have to rather than a person who takes an interest and collects. Dave.

Great stuff Kevy (as usual)! If I'm picking up your "vibes" correctly, like myself, you too seem to be more favourably inclined towards the more strongly scented shaving screams/soaps/croaps. Should this indeed be the case, allow me to flag at you the "Extrò Cosmesi" products offering. When is a Gillette razor not a Gillette razor? This seems to be the common thread since the Heritage was released...It seems that until '100% Made in the USA' appears all over them, it's going to be a case of, if parts are made anywhere else, it's just Gillette stamped on the box/razor.

Hi Kevy. I guess for me if parts of the razor are made in other countries and it keeps the price fare and not inflated its ok with me. Gillette designed it and put their name on it so to me its a Gillette razor. Most guys seem to like the way it shaves so.....Thanks for the video.👍😊

I’m with you Brian. They chose something that was already successful and put their mark on it. It’s still a decent razor for a reasonable retail price. I’ll get one just for the name. That’s a name everyone knows that will probably encourage more guys to try out wetshaving. And that’s good for all of us. I’m going to try those blades but, unless they are really special, Gillette is going to have to bring that price down by about half if they want me to continue buying them. When Feathers can be had for about $0.25 and others for as little as $0.05... $0.60 is just too steep a price for me. Probably doesn’t seem too bad if you have been paying Gillette $4-$5 per cartridge.

Hi Kevy, Nice shave again. How do you compare this new Gillette razor made in China with a real vintage Gillette razor made in USA? Or maybe you can never compare them, it is like heaven and hell? Our department stores start opening tomorrow. I'm all jazzed up about my new razor coming tomorrow. When you achieve BBS how long does it last? With me it seems to last less than a day. I do like the gold flakes in that brush handle.
