King Charles Discovers How Scottish Project Tackles Rise of Violence

The King attends an event to meet with representatives of a Police Scotland initiative targeting all forms of violent behaviour. Alongside Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, he meets with members of the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit, as well as The King’s Foundation and the King’s Trust. His Majesty listens to reflections on identifying the root causes of violence and how to increase support for young people. The Dumfries House estate is the headquarters of the King’s Foundation charity. Report by Matthew Covell.

Violence and poverty are linked. We don't have an economy that works for everyone, because we have a democracy that is undermined by the monarchy. Abolishing the monarchy won't on its own solve our problems, but it opens the democratic door to doing so.The monarchy is itself emblematic of our grossly inequitable society, and Charles should be ashamed not to have the intelligence or self-awareness to recognise as much. He doesn't have the excuse of having been force-fed propaganda like the majority of the creeps that comment on these videos.

Interesting that you blame the monarchy for something when it's actually the billionaires who are the problem these days. It's the billionaires openly behaving with little regard for the rights and freedoms of their fellow creatures that is the cause of all ills. And of course, they control governments and mainstream news sources that are more right wing in outlook. The King and his family have been working against the interests of the billionaires and the billionaires don't like it and are fighting back. Poverty is one reason for violence but it's not the only one. Extremism is another motivation behind violence. And we have more extremists these days, too. Best wishes.

Look at all the good that the Prince’s Trust (now the King’s Trust) has done for young people in the UK. And the monarchy brings tourists like myself who bring millions of £s and $s to the UK. Without the monarchy as a draw, the UK would be seen as just a country with crumbling houses, graffiti and “industrial actions” that make traveling in the UK difficult. I’d go elsewhere.

The UK has a long history and many, many historical sites as a result which is what brings most tourists to the UK because other than tourists who come when there are Royal events, tourists visit the historical and working HISTORICAL sites. By insinuating that all the UK is worth is their working monarchy, you have greatly insulted the country. There is a lot more to England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland than just their monarchy. Maybe you should go elsewhere since you don't appreciate that, and you are just there because of a family that you probably have never even seen or met. UK residents who claim that the nation is NOTHING without one family and this institution regardless of it's massive role in the UK are also greatly insulting their country because if The Monarchy is the UK's only worth and the only thing good about the UK, the Royal Family can render it worthless tomorrow if they so please. A nation whose only worth is dependent upon one family is not really a nation. If people cannot see that it is a nation with different cultures, history that goes beyond monarchy, and its beauty, then it is not the UK they love; it is the British Monarchy.
