"Fallen Angel" brings true tears to my eyes. Such a loyal criminological depiction, that relates to an unfortunate prosaic reality of our mankind. An amazing, priceless song. The interlude from 2:58 to 3:41 is like a sharp knife straightly to the heart, like a requiem composed for someone beloved. I feel the pain. I must highlight, regarding the lyrics, lines like these ones: "Lifetimes spent on the streets of a city; Make us the people we are" and "Snow white side streets of cold New York City; Stained with his blood it all went wrong". Brings tears to my eyes, everytime. Besides, I must say that I especially love Robin Miller's beautiful oboe lines, in this one.

Full song explanation: So fallen angel is abt 2 brothers from new york city "Tears of joy at the birth" who spend all their time together for years, they eventually get into a gang where they distribute drugs and do crimes, street violence type shit "Never alone from that time, sixteen years through knife fights" but even through that time his brother was still a decent person. but in a drug deal gone wrong his brother dies in the cold new york streets, with them quickly evading not even giving the brother time to mourn his brother, who died for worthless drugs. pretty much the whole red album is abt fear, like for example my friend described starless as "Starless, Is about a man about to die looking back on his life and realizing it was meaningless and empty, and how he wasted it. His life being empty (Starless and bible black, which literally just represents emptiness)". Fallen angel is about the fear of loss, the fear of loosing something forever just like that, its sad to think of life and death like that but it is what it is. the whole song is him mourning this "fallen angel" he once knew. "Snow white side streets of cold. New York City. Stained with his blood, it all went wrong .Sick and tired. Blue, wicked and wild. God only knows for how long. Fallen agnel, Fallen angel".

This song along with Crimsons original trilogy of Court, Posideon, and Lizard, helped me get through quarantine last year, especially during the summer, I would be awake in the late hours of the night thinking, and questioning constantly, and King Crimsons music, Fallen Angel in this case, was one of my personal favorites, it strikes an emotional tie with me, even if my story doesn't tie with the themes of the original, I still have my own personal connection, as of this year, I'm a highschool dropout, I've had enough with the flawed system, when I was down on my luck and school just kept kicking me in the gut, I decided to opt out for my needs, now I feel like a fallen angel in my families' eyes, something destined for great things but stripped of them because I wanted something more. Update, it's now been a year since I dropped out of my old highschool, I gave myself months to reflect and learn and I can safely say I'm in a better spot than before. I'm in school once more, but have improved greatly and am now a senior, hopefully will graduate next year, after I turn 20 this year. It's a start, and hopefully hear on I'll have a brighter path to look forward to than I previously thought, thanks for reading and enjoy the tunes. Update 2: I'm 21 at the time of writing this, and did graduate last year! But now I'm going through a tough period as an adult now, constantly looking for work and a place to properly call my own, and hoping to see people I longed to see before this year ends. Just like 4 years ago, I'm awake, restless, and in deep turmoil again. This year has been a great struggle, and I feel like I can't handle it anymore as each day passes, but even so, I still manage to wake up in the morning still. I don't ask for any sympathy or kind works, but just luck. At least one or more chances to keep going

That's a very relatable story, friend. I had a very difficult time last year too. I'd just finished high school (which I HATED as well), but haven't done much of anything during this pandemic period. My mental health plummeted and now that I'm actually doing better, Crim's music is like a window into that timeframe, especially Starless. I'm glad this bands glorious music could help you out :) There's a way to make this life work, even with the awful systems we have to endure. We're not alone in all this and a fallen angel can fly once again

Questa è la banda migliore di tutti i tempi. Musica sofisticata per persone semplici.

One if my favorite songs from a favorite album. Everything Fripp does on this song alone has influenced my playing a lot.

Size olan sevgimi sözcüklerle ifade edemem, şu 10-15 yıllık gençliğim boyunca sizler bana eşlik ettiniz ve edeceksiniz. Ölene kadar size kulak vermekten asla usanmayacağım King Crimson.

Is this a remaster? Maybe I just haven't listened to this in decades! RED sounds even more convincingly like an Indie-Grunge 90s production precursor than it did back then. It was always a fools errand to try to talk to Smashing Pumpkins fans about King Crimson production values, anyway. The style of distortion, loud drums, bright and murky mixing sound ahead of their time. Not typical mid 70s production style...

My favorite riff has to be the one Frip plays at 4:20. Before going on stage I'd paly it over and over to get loose and warm up. I love how chromatic it is and repetitive it's almost on par with the main riff from Black Sabbath "After All The Dead".

Surpreso com a quantidade de brasileiros por aqui! Eu realmente tenho um apego por essa banda assim como o Pink Floyd e o Led Zeppelin, mas o King Crimson é diferente, não sei explicar o motivo.
