I think you're correct about the Boss! My favorite fan theory about the split personality is that his mother was released and went to see him, and meeting her shocked him enough to break him, so he shut her mouth (sewn) and hid her there. That meeting could've messed with him enough as to try to hide his identity forever, and burning an entire village to protect his secret. The mix between Souma Saitou (Doppio) and Katsuyuki Konishi (Boss) brings out that madness in a top level! Epitaph is the ability to see forward from King Crimson, and them being within the same body, Doppio can still use a portion of the stand. But remember that visions are incomplete... Nero gave such a hard fight, and to think he almost took the Boss with him! But once again, like with Bucci, Nero thought he had won before it actually happened, and gave in to his emotions. This is one of the best arcs ever!

So, the point isn't that there is some specific combination of events and stand abilityes and such things that made them who they are. The Epitaph ability to see an unchangeable vision of the future is also a factor that makes King Crimson so terrifying. Doppio in this episode is only able to see the future image but unable to do anything with it. However, if King Crimson's full ability is here, he can decide his action based on that images, for example, if the image is him dying, he could erase that time and avoid the problem, and he can decide the best time to strike by use Epitaph to see the future, for example, if KC sees the future is not good, he could erase time to avoid it, if the future showed he would be winning, he could just strike and gain the result of him winning.

Ah this is such a good fight. Risotto is such a good character and one of the best minor villains. Also doppio and boss are just a split personality with boss being the more mature dominant and doppio being the simple and childish. The little face is a sub stand called epitaph and that is like "doppios stand" with king crimson being the bosses true stand because it's his true identity. Since the two personalities are so split and different they formed their own individual stand in a sense

My theory is out there, but in accordance with Diavolo’s name, I wonder if Doppio might’ve been possessed. In the confines of the series I don’t think it would work any different than Dissociative Identity Disorder but would explain more minute shit like Diavolo’s pupils being fractured, the extreme nature in which Diavolo and Doppio’s body alters when shifting between personas, any maybe even why he has an ability that, without gravity rituals or a stand arrow, is as strong as a vampire’s or a Joestar’s stand.

Risotto died because he was stupid, he cut out all the iron from Vinegar and thereby deprived him of oxygen, so Aerosmith did not see him, and earlier Vinegar threw scalpels created by Risotto and Bruno caught them, so Bruno instructed Naranche to look around the area for enemies. And if anything, Vinegar is Doppio's name.

Don, after your done with Konosuba, I would absolutely tune in to see Gintama. It’s a long series - 360+ episodes - but it is entertaining all the way through, being about 85% comedy, and 15% action. I also understand if you don’t want to sit through such a long series again, so some other recommendations I have are Steins;Gate (a time travel show that is pretty complicated but really, really good) or Dororo (a dark action series about a baby sacrificed to the devil who goes around slaying monsters). Both are relatively short but are some of my favourite shows. Also, fun fact: the frog Doppio uses as a phone has been confirmed by Araki as being a descendant of the frog that was punched by William Zeppeli in Part One. Idk why he confirmed that but he did, so… yeah.

I'm pretty sure doppio has DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) it's not very accurate to irl, but it's caused by traumatic events at a young age, we know basically nothing about his history so we don't know what it is, and it's probably safe to say that Doppio is the original, and the boss is the alter (alter is a term for the alternate identity used by most people with DID irl)

people really overlook how fucking gruesome this fight is and how horrible this must have been for doppio. doppio doesn't seem to be very familiar with the gangster world, as risotto said, his fear is genuine and he acts like a civilian (and he's not faking this either, we already know how perceptive risotto is). he's not as used to the cruelty of the mob as normal gangsters are, and he's also pretty young (we know this from the fortune teller). just fucking imagine having to feel sharp scissors forming just under your skin, having to feel them slowly open up and cut at the inside of your throat, aswell as piercing through your skin from the inside. you then have to grab the scissors and voluntarily rip them out of your own skin, further tearing open the wound. and that's just one of the horrific incidents, he had to deal with things like this multiple times. razorblades ripping through the inside of your throat, your tounge, the roof of your mouth. needles piercing through your cheek, jabbing at your skull. having to witness all this and have knowledge of what suffering your going to endure. god, poor fucking doppio, he isn't as innocent as everyone makes him out to be (although he's more innocent than many of the characters of part 5) but he didn't fucking deserve this
