Don't fail the Law of Moses 🇮🇱 (knowing Good from Evil): Genesis 1 is God 😇 (Elohim in Hebrew and Theos in Greek). Genesis 2 is that ancient serpent called the Devil and Satan 👿 (Yahweh in Hebrew and Kurios in Greek). Genesis 3 has a clever snake 🐍 (the snake knew Elohim, of Genesis 1, from Yahweh of Elohim, of Genesis 2. So, the snake passed the Law of Moses 🇮🇱.) What is the difference between Elohim and Yahweh? According to the documentary hypothesis, these variations are the products of different source texts and narratives that constitute the composition of the Torah: Elohim is the name of God used in the Elohist (E) and Priestly (P) sources, while Yahweh is the name of God used in the Jahwist (J) source. Who was Yahweh originally? Yahweh was originally described as one of the sons of El in Deuteronomy 32:8-9, but this was removed by a later emendation to the text. With the notable exception of Yahweh himself, the deities worshipped by Israel were also Canaanite. These included El, the ruler of the pantheon, Asherah, his consort, and Baal. How did Yahweh become god? "Yahweh" was differentiated out of "Yahu" by the etymologizing fancy of the priests of the sanctuary of Sinai in the land of Mutsri. The Calebite clans in the south of Judah, whose arms placed David on the throne, worshiped this god; and when David became king, he made Yahweh the national god of Israel. 1. Yahweh is from Edom and Seir, not Israel. 2. Bronze Age Israel 🇮🇱 > Iron Age Israel 🇮🇱 3. Yahweh (from Genesis 2) was adopted.

The first time I watched this season and episode, I had nothing great going on in my life and still cried. The second time I watched it was after I had an ectopic pregnancy that ended up with a surgery removing my fallopian tube with the baby. This season has ministered to me in so many ways. Jesus speaking to little James, Faith the size of a mustard seed and this finale episode with Peter questioning Jesus on the water. I cried not out of sorrow but out of deep understanding that whatever God does is good. I’m standing strong on my faith that my God will restore what has been taken away from me and my family ❤️

This Psalm of Asaph, rendered in this way is incredible. It led me to a reading session of Psalms that was deep and powerful, employing a new eye, listening with a new ear, engaging with renewed imagination. My meditations lead to deeper appreciation of God and His amazing love and grace. The Holy Spirit using The Chosen as a vehicle for engagement--this is the series at its best--not as a primary source (how often has Dallas clarified this?!), but as a pointer to Scripture. I am amazed and thankful, each and every time, how The Chosen ratchets up its impact for good, encouraging its viewers not so much to "Come and See" as to "Go, Read, and See!"

David shared his confessions; his heartaches, his joys, his failures, his deep and profound sadness, his love, his sufferings...his whole heart...before God and before us...what an example for us...to not be ashamed of our struggles before a Mighty God! And a reminder to us, to bring EVERYTHING before God! Even what others would say is not "cool" or "shameful"...this is why I post my problems publicly...I am not ashamed either...and in hopes that someone will understand...NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD...and nothing is unusual to Him either...He knows us, He just wants our hearts...just like King David's...God is Awesome! 🥰✌🏼♥️🙏🏼

Although I’ve grown up with the Gospel, and I am a Christian, it’s hard to truly picture the Twelve, let alone Jesus Himself, as, for lack of a better term, “regular people”. Until the Chosen. This series is doing phenomenal work in bringing the Bible to life. The words of this psalm make my heart break only to be healed again. It tells the story of my emense grief and suffering following my husband's death. For months on end, I cried. Remembering all those things I could have said and all those things I should have said. And for all those things that should have been left unsaid. For all those things I should have done that were left undone. I prayed and prayed, only to feel abandoned by God. No words or sympathy could relieve my suffering. Until one day. Our Lord came to me and said, "We are right here." And then I knew, I was going to be o.k. Remembering all those gifts he had bestowed to me. The beautiful time with my husband, my children, and family, my friends. It changed my life forever. It strengthened my faith and made better all the relationships in my life that matter. I wake each morning in prayer, thanking God for another beautiful day. This Psalm reminds me of all these things. The pain and the suffering. It also reminds me to look beyond myself to the world, to others, and most of all, to the glory of God. Thank you for this beautiful interpretation. I have shared it many times. This is on my bedtime Playlist as the first thing I listen to while falling asleep. I would LOVE to find more psalms read like this. I've searched through old gregorian chants, various choirs, but all of them are kind of musty or distracting or in Latin. Pleeeeeease, whoever composed this, consider a project to do more of the Psalms!!!

I love that you show how the scripture impacted the people of the New Testament, something I’ve never seen in a Bible show.

When I first saw this, I sat in silence for a minute afterwards to absorb how amazingly well done this was and how much this psalm resonates with me

I’m so so thankful the chosen series was made. I was thinking about how I wish it was around many years ago that would be nice but God allowed it to happen during this period for a reason it was meant to be now. So amazing.
