King David put his passion in God. And this was evident when David was still in his younger years. He was assigned to take care of the sheep, and he did this job wholeheartedly.
This task was God’s way of preparing David for big battles. God was on David’s side every day while he guarded his sheep. David stayed faithful to God. He killed lions and bears with his bear hands and each time God sent David an animal to battle, it increased his faith in God. Furthermore, his experience with lions and bears gave him the confidence to kill Goliath.
God made David strong through his faith.
David had a passion and love for God and it became fruitful as God called him for a much greater purpose, when later he became King. David knew that the only constant thing in this world is God and he didn’t want to compromise or settle for less!
King David, just like everyone else, was flawed and weak. He made very bad mistakes in his life, but these mistakes did not define him, they made him stronger, wiser and ultimately closer to God. David knew that despite all his flaws, God could still use him for greater and more amazing things during some extremely challenging times!
May God bless His Majesty King Charles III on his coronation. May God guide him and all who live under His reign. Indeed, today we too all live in challenging times. There is overwhelming suffering, inequality and injustice. Therefore, let God's name be glorified and may His kingdom come on earth during the reign of King Charles III. Amen!
Based on Psalm 30:1-12 (For the dedication of the temple of David)
The story behind the song.
King David's prayer has taken 4 years to complete! Originally written in 2019, It was realeased on the album, 'Testimony' but never really felt finished. The song was born out desperation - Desperation of seeking God in a world that increasingly turns away from Him.
There were so many obstacles, trials, distractions to overcome but I never ever lost sight. At times I prayed: Lord, this is impossible, what you’ve asked of me is just too hard. I played every note on each instrument, obsessed over the vocals and production for hours, days and weeks that literally turned into years. Many times I felt disappointed, discouraged, dismayed but I knew one thing. This song was His Will. I kept praying, 'Your Will, not mine Father. Your will.'
Eventually, I'd given up hope that the song would ever be really finished and settled for less but that's not King David's style!
Then, one day, out of the blue, I get a message from Kirsty Louise Jones. She asks if we can sing some faith songs together. She had been travelling around the world and ended up back at home near Chorley where I live and she was longing for someone to sing with.
I could tell her passion for Christ Immediately! She is a real women of God., overflowing with his love and compassion. We met up at church the following day and we ended up recorded her vocal for this song. I was completely blown away! Her voice was exactly what had been missing from this song! The song needed to be a duet all along!
Thank you so much for being you Kirsty . Your zeal and passion for God is inspiring! Thank you to you, King David, for writing such honest Psalms which continue to inspire generations!
Finally, thank you to God! Praise to Him for being so patient with me! What a colaboration it has been. Praise Him! Praise His holy name you faithful people! Try to seek His will with every fibre of your being. One thing is guarenteed; It won’t be easy but if you perservere and ask for His holy spirit, He can do great things in your life!

Lyrics:
Lord my God, I called unto You
And you saved me
Lord my God, my heart cries to You
For You heal me
Lord my God, there’s no-one like You
You are holy
In Jesus’ name I call on to You
And You hear me
Sing the praise of the Lord
You His faithful people
Praise His holy name
For His anger lasts only a moment
But His favour rests on us for a lifetime
Sing the praise of the Lord
You His faithful people
Praise His holy name
Lord my God, I Look onto to You
Lord have mercy
Lord my God, my heart sings to You
You are Majesty
Lord my God, I will exalt You
For eternity
In Jesus’ name I call onto You
and You heal me
Lord You heal me
Sing the praise of the Lord
You His faithful people
Praise His holy name
For His anger lasts only a moment
But His favour rests on us for a lifetime
Weeping may remain for the night
But rejoicing comes in the morning light
Sing the praises of the Lord
You His faithful people
Praise His holy name
Lord, I’ll sing Your praises forever…. repeat.
