Wow!!! I'm amazed at the talent I'm witnessing. It is true what he said about not getting recognized if you sing Ga songs. Recently I was playing a Ga song by Cina Soul(which I love) and thought my friend would like it so I asked him to take a listen. What he said was ," why is she singing in Ga and not Twi?". That tells you people perc eive Ga songs.

It is not every song that must be sang in the language you understand. Honestly, some of these ignorant people lived their whole life not in their villages but in Accra and never returned to their villages yet they pretend and remain ungrateful to their host. You now see people from other regions who don’t speak Twi as their mother tongue abandon their identity. I hardly hear people speak Ewe, Dagbani etc in GT Accra unless their hometown . They are no longer proud of their origin. All regions pretending to be speaking Twi against GaDangme language. We will always stand strong and the change will come.

Although there are ignorant folks around when we discuss about Ghanaian languages, however, there are several Ga songs that have received massive support like tracks from Tinny, Gazmilla, Adane best and so on. King Promise, Bright of Bukbak and Praye tintin all sing in Ga sometimes and we all love them. The major issue here is people tend to support a song based on the vibes it brings and how much promotion goes into it.

Music transcends language, Nii Funny, Tinny, Buk Bak, Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi and lots of other people have songs in Ga which are loved by people. Do we speak Yoruba, Igbo etc yet we enjoy Nigerian song. I remember Magic system from Ivory Coast, Windek, Primier Gawu, Hei Alhaji and other songs that made hit in Ghana. Ghanaian artistes talk too much instead of investing in their art and act. Edem, Sherifa Gunu etc have all made it while typical Twi underground musicians never made it. Leave chiefs and others out. Its prayer, hard work and good management. ✌️✌️
