Ohhhh my gosh please please please I’m begging you to react to Cashual Chuck’s break down of this song. He explains the Philippine Mythology of Bulan 🌒, Haliya 🌘and the Bakunawa 🐉🐲 and the main metaphor Felip is trying to get across - THEN watch this MV again... I PROMISE it will all make sense! You’ll understand why he was dressed like a demigod then turns into looking more of a mortal human, what the sea serpent is about & why this song ended with the sound of a gong. Also that majestic singing in the intro is actually SB19’s STELL 😎🤩🥳

Firstly thank u Ted for checking Felip's Bulan! sharing some words from him; "Bulan" talks about recognizing that powerful being within you and not letting other people consume your light. It shows the darker, more confrontational side of self-love. Because sometimes, the negativity gets too loud to ignore and the only way to get rid of it is to acknowledge the power that you hold and face it head-on. "Bulan" has lyrics about how negativity is being normalized-"'Di na bago sa 'kin 'to [This isn't new to me]," and for me, the way forward is to dismantle that kind of thinking-"

thanks for checking this out its his interpretation of Philippine Mythology about BULAN Bulan and Haliya are moon siblings and Bakunawa is a moon eating dragon Initially Bathala created 7 moons for each day of the week . Bakunawa was enamored by their beauty and light and tried to devour them one by one until its only Haliya and Bulan left. Bulan was almost swallowed trying to defend Haliya but turned mortal when he was spitten out by Bakunawa...As a mortal he had visions of Bakunawa and told of him to the town folks, which the town folks did not believe after a while ,but a time came when Bakunawa again tried to devour Haliya and Bulan this time defended Haliya as a mortal with a Gong , the loud noise ,he found out is a way to defeat Bakunawa . Haliya is now the only moon in the sky and in Philippine mythology everytime theres an eclipse -its believed to be Bakunawa tryng to eat the moon, also red moon is moon stained by Haliyas blood when Bakunawa tried to devour her

THANK YOU for actually reading the disclaimer, I get so peeved when reactors don't even bother when it's fairly crucial to understanding the premise of the video. My dad's side of the family is from Bohol (island in the Central Visayas of the Philippines), and I feel a lot of pride when hearing this song. It makes me happy that more non-Filipinos are becoming more interested in learning something (or anything really -- most ppl don't know much) about the Philippines, and I think this is partly due to the international rise of P-Pop.
