The game eclipses lots of much more significant games in terms of quality, which is saying something since movie license games are usually quite bad. I know it will never happen with Peter Jackson moving on from King Kong long ago, and the King Kong IP now belonging to Warner Bros, but I'd love to see another game taking place on Peter Jackson's Skull Island but on modern hardware like the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Skull Island was very fleshed out with a missing culture, a menagerie of fictional creatures designed for the world alone, and interesting characters but overall it was severely underutilized. I'd either like to see a retelling of the original game but much longer, expansive, and fleshed out, heck, go ahead and make it open world so we can explore the sinking island lost to time in its entirety :) or on the other hand, a sequel of sorts where you play as a member of a team of explorers who are going to the island around a decade after the events in New York played out. However, I would like some closure for the original characters if they went this route, like showing us Jack Driscoll and Ann Darrow married and have a child, and maybe a mention of Carl Denham fleeing the country or even having him come with the new crew in the flesh to find a purported treasure somewhere on Skull Island to pay off the debt he incurred from Kong's rampage through the city (as a reference to the sequel to the original 1933 King Kong Son of Kong). This game could even be a Son of Kong remake but in Peter Jackson's King Kong's setting. While the principal goal of the original game was to escape the island and rescue Ann, this game would have the player documenting the island's wondrous flora and fauna while also fighting for their lives. There would also need to be more weapon variety from the first game. I think all of the original guns should return, but we should also get various munitions from the time like the BAR automatic rifle, Colt M1911, Colt Single Action Army Revolver, M1903 Springfield, M1 Garand (give us that iconic ping), a flamethrower of some sort, several types of grenades, and even various rocket launchers that fit the period. I can always dream that we'll return to the island of the skull...
