"King Kong Encounter was an attraction formerly part of the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood. The scene, located amongst the New York Street backlot sets in the heart of the studios, was destroyed by a massive fire in 2008 and was replaced by King Kong: 360 3-D, which was opened on 1 July 2010.
The show began as the tour tram entered the soundstage and stopped in front of an apartment building facade where guests watched a breaking news report about Kong's rampage on television monitors located inside of the building's windows. A news chopper circling overhead was covering the story when Kong suddenly swatted at the chopper, causing it to come crashing down from above and exploding only a few feet away from the tram. As the tram rounded a corner, it drove out onto the Brooklyn Bridge, putting guests at eye-level with the giant animatronic ape. The enraged Kong shook the bridge and ripped the suspension bridge cables apart in an attempt to grab the tram. But guests managed to narrowly escape the clutches of Kong as the tram exited the soundstage just in the nick of time."

Rolland G. Smith (born December 6, 1941) is an American former television news reporter and anchor who is best known for his time in New York, where he was based for most of his long career. He left WCBS when he was promoted to co-host of CBS' The Morning Program in January 1987. Smith left CBS that December after the show was canceled. Following this, he moved to WWOR, and in early 1988 he became the lead anchor of the station's 10 PM newscast replacing Tom Dunn. Smith would leave WWOR in 1993 and moved from New York for the first time since his transfer from Washington, as he relocated to San Diego to take an anchor position at NBC affiliate KNSD. This was the first time Smith had worked for a network-affiliated station since his 1987 departure from WCBS (WWOR, at the time, was an independent and was a year away from gaining any affiliation). He stayed with KNSD until 1997 and returned to New York, but did not immediately return to television.
After a four-year absence (which included a brief stint at WRNN), Smith rejoined WWOR as lead anchor following Ernie Anastos' departure to return to WCBS. He eventually moved to weekends as the co-anchor of the station's now-former Saturday and Sunday newscasts. In addition to his anchor duties, on each newscast he provided a small commentary that would be accompanied by his signature superimposed on screen. After a long career Smith announced his retirement in 2006, ending a nearly 40-year career with 11 Emmy Awards for his body of work.
Tress MacNeille (born Teressa Claire Payne; June 20, 1951) is an American voice actress. She is best known for providing the voices of Dot, Daisy Duck, Chip, Gadget Hackwrench, Wilma Flintstone, Mom, Agnes Skinner, Dolph Starbeam, Babs Bunny, and various other characters in various animated television series such as The Simpsons, Futurama, Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Disney's House of Mouse, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, SWAT Kats, Rugrats, and Dave the Barbarian." ~ wikipedia.org

A friend of mine showed me this video, and I was actually quite shocked to learn that the woman on camera was Sheree J. Wilson, and that all her lines were dubbed over by Tress Macneille. It doesn’t really surprise me all that much considering Wilson has either blue or green eyes, Macneille has either brown or hazel eyes.

The Kelly King footage was recycled from the King Kong ride that had debuted in 1986 over at Universal Studios Hollywood; there the anchor was veteran ABC news anchor Sander Vanocur. Also, I'm pretty sure that's Tress MacNeille playing King.

I'm certain that's Tress MacNeille's Voice...but NOT her face; I've seen her in interviews before, and she does Not look like the lady in the Helicopter. If anything, it sounds (and looks) like a well-synced voice dub. Also of note, at the time this was filmed, WWOR-TV New York was owned by MCA--Universal's (then) parent company; a few years after that, the station was bought by Chris-Craft Television, then came UPN, then came "My Network", and so forth.
