I just recently decided to pick the bass up again after playing in orchestra through middle and high school and feel like the transition from instrument style should be smooth but the music notes/sheets I’m used to are different from these and I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could explain the difference 🙏🏽

This is not sheet music, this is tab. It also exists sheet music for bass, and I have it available both the tab and sheet music on my patreon.com/myyshadow This tab basically reads as 4 strings and the numbers represent the frets that you should be plucking. Rhythm is the same. Hope it helps
