I don't know if Gold is always better than Treasure. Treasure for example can be boosted by Nyxbloom Ancient and similar cards that care about tapping permanents for mana

Extort's card text does not contain any mana symbols. The reminder text contains a hybrid symbol, but reminder text is ignored for the purposes of determining color identity. Black cards with extort may be played in mono-black EDH decks, as can white cards with extort in mono-white EDH decks.

@@superbentendocube64 Reminder text is still text and color identity is defined by both the CMC and the card text. That means black cards with extort cannot be played in mono black decks and white cards with extort cannot be played in mono white decks.
