Removed the gasket both sides of glass at the bottom only full width of glass, drilled out igniter hole a little, replaced igniter with 50 watt more powerful ignitor, and move igniter 1/8 inch closer to pot . Readjusted pellet feed rate and air flow apon pellet startup . Much better burning 🔥 . Still cautious on startup. May still over fill pot with pellets (so I remove some pellets or open fill lid for a very short time . Especially when room or stove is very cold . Stay safe .

I see your gasket removed from bottom of glass and drilled out hole in pot. Both those helped. Can’t believe stove is not more tuned at the factory. The surging of the flame and exhaust was definitely improved with bottom door seal cut off. 4 Phillips screws remove glass, trim and reinstall glass. I was going to return stove but looked on KZbin for hours of great information. I first trimmed about 6” and tried it but glass got dirty on sides so shut stove off again and cut off the full length of bottom rope seal. Flame the same but glass cleaner longer. I found a great web site called Hearth.com. I searched my king kp130 stove and found some great info. FirepotPete articles are great. He says the surging exhaust is ok and I feel better knowing that. Surging is way less after gasket removal and guy named ARC lists the factory c- codes and what they do and where the default settings are. 21 factory codes listed. I changed my settings to where the stove runs nice. You can alter the blower speeds so pellets don’t blow out, can adjust the start up sequence pellet timer which is 6 minutes by default but can be adjusted from 0 to 30. My stove starts fine at default for me so I left it at factory default. The pellets fill about half way when heat starts the fire. Fire is a bit big for first 10 minutes then settles in at my hr1 (heat range 1) setting. I have a small ranch so I use setting 1 or 2. Hope this helps out some people. I’m new to pellet stoves but didn’t expect this much tuning would be needed. Watch the KZbin videos for king kp130 for some info and some laughs too. I have a 31 year old oil furnace in the basement and feel better with this as a backup source of heat . House is small so stove can almost heat the whole house if need be. Oil is cheap these past several years in upstate, ny. so I changed my mind for now on switching to propane furnace setup. Turns out propane here is more expensive so for now I’ll keep oil heat and wait for Biden green furnace discounts in the next year or two...lol . Meanwhile $900 pellet stove is cheaper peace of mind until that happens. Rural home so no natural gas out here. Small air tight wood stove insert in family room but got to load every hour or two. I use it for nice atmosphere on cold days and if power goes out. I burn only a cord or two a year. I have a 3750 watt generator too when needed.

Just bought mine and got it setup. I have it vented into my chimney. Not even 24 hours and the glass is black. The burn pot doesn’t have any large flames in it. Feed rate is at 1.75 and draft at 3. I see you are running almost the same settings and you have decent flames. I also noticed when I open the door slightly the flames are taller and burn better. Any advice? I’m going to remove the bottom gasket as well.
@TheOriginalAndysGarage4 жыл бұрын
Yes remove the entire bottom door glass just leave a tiny bit at Each corner and don't over tighten it when you put it back together you'll be fine, it actually says it in the manual to cut the door glass because you're starving it for air and it's running really rich
@Brucewayne-yt5kg4 жыл бұрын
I'd be careful cutting the whole bottom gasket out the newer model I just bought is different than the one he has it has a plate along the bottom and if you cut it all out it looks like some of the pellets would come out
@Brucewayne-yt5kg4 жыл бұрын
I did however adjust the pellet drop rate per hour so its between 1.75 on heat range 1 and on it's high setting of 5 it does 3 pph and also drilled the holes in the burn pot one size up and its burning better it seems

We just purchased the KP 130 and are new to pellet stoves. We are running into the issue of our draft fan flashing twice and a delay. To me, it's important that the entire combustion chamber is completely separated from the room that the pellet stove is operating in. Cutting gaskets away and or drilling hole where they shouldn't be could cause great danger. The control unit has many sensors connected to it and they all have their own functions. Air isn't blown in to the combustion chamber but drawn out of it by the exhaust fan. The vacuum that's being created this way will be checked by a sensor. If this vacuum isn't deep enough, the sensor will detect this and the system will be stopped. My pellet stove has only been installed just last week and we're not in the heating season. The 'cold air' intake for my new stove is a 5/4" pvc plumbing pipe that I mounted through a newly drilled hole through the floor to take the air out of the crawling space. That air is always colder and will therefore contain more Oxigen. Afetr the installation of my new pellet stove, I've fired it three times and it works like a charm. I'll post some more information when the heating season has started. I've been an international field service engineer for over some 35 years and I firmly believe in control circuits and their sensors. I've always been creative and inventive but I've never been reckless with these things. I've had a wood burner for many years and I've been fiddling with that to get things going a lot better. I've gotten tired of dragging lumber in, cutting it splitting it and stacking it. All labour, concerning my pellet stove, will now be maintaining it the right way and making sure that I fill the hopper in time with the best pellets I can buy.

After that long story you left, it says it right in the owners manual you have to cut the bottom door glass gasket out because it's called an "air wash" everybody that has done this noticed an instant change in their pellet stove burning better and the glass not turning black within a minute

Anyone running into an issue with a pulsating flame? It's like the fan motor is working in cycles and hitting the burn pot with air, then backing off. Doesn't seem consistent. I'm running a 2' straight pipe from the stove to exterior of the house with the cap. No Ts or elbows. No outside air connected as it's in a large home, and definitely not air tight. Also, low feed set at 3.5. High set at 4.50.

I want to add after doing a bunch of reading, watching videos, and contacting USSC text line. It appears the pulsating fan/ flame is normal. (Doesn't seem like a good way to keep a consistent burn though) Anyhow. I switched to a hardwood pellet as well and the stove acts like a different stove. Burns hotter and has a better fuel burn. It definitely has taken some adjusting on my end to figure it out. Thanks to "One wheel appeal" for posting these videos where we can all compare notes.
