Cait seemed to be more confident in her sexuality once she got comfortable with the person (the lady in the brothel, Vi obviously and Maddie) and Piltover doesn't seem to have any kind of taboo regarding homosexuality. Whenever any doubts/disapproval came up about Cait and Vi's relationship it was always more a class/origin issue than anything else, so I doubt Vi was the first woman she had a relationship with.

Arcane is a series where half the main cast is female, featuring many people of colour from different backgrounds and the main love story is between two women. Even though I am neither gay nor a woman, when Vi and Cait had their intimate scene I was overjoyed, because two characters I've grown to love finally got something GOOD. Arcane does all the things that recent Hollywood slop has tried to do and it succeeds where all that stuff has failed. It succeeds because its characters are incredibly strong, perfectly written and consistent with their own morals and motivations. They are well developed, they grow and change and they make mistakes. A good character can be anything; any race, any gender, any sexuality and they will succeed if you make them human and believable. It's a shame that the skill required to make these characters seems to be so rare these days.

@@H0TR0B you sir!! You feel exactly what I feel! When characters are so human and believable, we dont care about sexuality, gender, race anything. This animated series shook us cause all the feelings were human and thats why a lot of us are in a chokehold with this show. A lot of us watch series looking for something we might lack in real life, and when you give the viewer a conglomerate of feelings, a lot, i mean a lot of people will feel them or identify with them.

what arcane does well is that there is no gender normativity in this world. the writers said themselves that if "heterosexuality" wasn't considered the default homosexuality would not be some anomaly or special case and so on with caste race or gender. so basically this is a world where everything is normal. nobody questions homosexuality. nobody questions a female war general. nobobdy questions a particular race to be in more power. it is as likely for a woman to be a top brass politician as is for a man and that's why cait's MOTHER holds the family line and its not seen as something wonderous. it's treated as normal totally possible totally everyday thing.

While I think that's funny, do you think Cait's line was really about getting some alone with with Vi in the cell and not allowing Vi to let Jynx go free? After all, the conflict between Vi and Cait that was holding their relationship back was how to deal with Jynx. I interpreted that line to mean that she knew Vi would try to let Jynx go free and Cait allowed it to happen. This is why it comes as such a revelation to Vi because she now realizes her love of her sister no longer conflicts with her love of Cait.

I think the cell scene between them not only to treat us fans, but also is necessary right at the moment. It reminds of the first time they met, where everything starts. And Vi blaming herself for making wrong choices, losing everyone, thinking that she failed Cait, only then to find out that Cait knows all, and even clears the way for her. That's the huge, the biggest consolation for Vi. Being desperate, then being seen. For that moment Vi knows Cait will always have her back. The scene shows their love for each other, but more than that, shows their needs for each other. They're inseparable.

How much love i have for the characters in this show. There may be a script, or maybe a storyboard... possibly even an animatic of it somewhere... i can hope... (and Definitely tons of head-cannon in Amanda Overton's head, just watch her say this in Elijah's latest group-watch with her) But in animation, there is little to no 'cut content'. It rarely happens. Usually scenes are written, treated, painted, boarded, directed and edited BEFORE any substantial animation, modeling, texturing and rendering happens, as it takes a godly amount of time and therefor money to 'waste' it on unnecessary material. And the amount of attention of detail that went into every freakin frame of Arcane as a whole... I just don't see it as a possibility.

How underrated is that moment at 0:52 when Jayce tells them the world is basically destined to end and Cait looks at Vi like SHE is her world and Vi responds by doing the same thing. Before this, Cait could have lost Vi by clearing the way for her to rescue Jinx. They could have both just...run away...and Cait would never see Vi again. Cait knew this but did it anyway because she wants to give Vi a choice and a vote of confidence, because she loves her, because that was the lesson of this season: letting things go to break our cycles and chains. These two have the best interaction, they can read each other like a book. Riot, you guys are a bunch of idiots if you waste this kind of dynamic because THIS...we probably won't see anything like it again and they have so much potential for more. Thank you for this, for the songs, for the laughs and tears...for everything. I will miss my girls.

And I was very surprised by how easily we can read them, we never get confused, it's as if we all belong to the same core. They communicate through subtleties, like during the sex scene, Cait gently touches Vi's wound and gives her a sad look like "Are you okay doing this? You're hurt", and Vi just pulls her closer in response. It's very quick and subtle, but it's there. The people who worked on their narrative really committed to the work. This is magical and should be a reference.

Another thing I noticed too about what you mentioned in the sex scene, if you go back to their breakup and watch it back slow, that is exactly where Cait hit her with the gun. Cait gently touching the wound and stopping also felt to me like she was remembering when she hurt Vi and was so sorry and felt the guilt creep in all over again - almost like an apology too - and then Vi pulling her in felt like her forgiveness to her. I love these girls so much

As a lesbian from a homophobic country - the things you did with Caitlyn and Vi's couple are so important to me. The representation of wlw relationships is so incredibly dear to me. In my hometown the love like that is prohibited, but it is amazing to see that the most popular animated show has the lesbian couple at the very center of the plot. With your work you prove every homophobic person that they are wrong. You just present a story of a sincere, humane love. And I am grateful for it. Their couple dynamics healed something in my soul. I love how they were just... people, flawed humans prone to mistakes but with an intense fiery love that burns through the worst of what the world throws at them. But they didn't keep Jinx alive for no reason, and I can absolutely see a different show have an episode set in a Piltover. Mind you, Christian said that they're considering people like Camille and Renata as the "next generation" of the conflict, which means we'll probably be going back there at some point with a bit of a time skip - Vi and Cait becoming experienced partners like in the game, Singed heading to/coming back from Ionia, whatever fate has in store for Heimer... There are plenty of threads to pull on.

Straight, possibly asexual girl here, and these two are giving me emotions I've never felt in any other context, be it real or fictional. One of the things that gets me the most in this show are the emotions. Fortiche are gods at showcasing complex emotions, especially with the eyes. I've never seen such a wide range of emotions in an animated show ever, heck even in some real shows with real actors you don't even get close to this!

As an asexual man it might be my favourite show of all time. Not only is the quality in every facet absolutely astounding but the representation of so many different ways of life is so refreshing. I was an absolute mess through so many of the season 2 episodes. I can't wait for what they do next, I'm so attached to these characters I cared nothing for when I actually played the game. Think I'm going to have to hope they end up making that MMO just so I can see Cait and Vi again maybe.

I'm going to preface this by saying that I am a straight man. I don't know what it is about these two characters but I was more invested in their relationship than any other fictional characters that I can think of. Ever. I think it's because they just feel so.. real? Even the sex scene felt to me like it was more about their emotional connection than anything else which I think is pretty uncommon in media. I found the journey of their relationship to be incredibly touching and relatable. I'm glad they got some happiness at the end.

They actually showed all the up and downs of a relationship, all the shit that can get in the middle, but also all the good stuff that can happen when two people love each other and want to be better for each other. They grew apart and then they grew together and it was beautiful.

Exactly, because it was always love and tenderness between them. Even in an intimate scene like that, it wasn't about just having sex it was truly making love and showing each other their care.

Disney couldn't produce something essential and this show managed to tell a Masterpiece in 2 Seasons. Newcomers in producing any kind of television just showed their passion and thaught you how to write compelling stories and even include diversity without shoving it down your throut. This is just great Entertainment made from passionate producers for Fans who didn't even expect this kind of Level.

Well, Arcane gave us what we deserved in the finale. It is clear that CatiVi was canon before Arcane. But the way their relationship developed in Arcane and the final Act 3 is simply the endgame of this series. I understand that everyone liked their declaration of love and reconciliation in the cell, but for some reason for me the final scene where they sit hugging is the most beautiful. It shows that the girls live together and are happy. What else do two lovers need? Nothing, they were able to go through all the difficulties and hardships and are finally happy together and that's the main thing😍😍😍
