The ending is unfair... I really hope that they would follow the manhwa where hwi and the queen die together in a good way (protecting their beloved one) because nobody is happier than anybody.. The manhwa has the most tragic ending but it's the best for everyone. This drama ending kinda being forced to be a happy ending story 😌 i'm so disappointed

TBH, I agreed with this reply thread's ending, the show's ending seems forced, and just bring us to the fantasy world, where the Hwi and Ji-Un lived happily ever after, but reality is more complicated than that. Sure, it's just a TV show, some would argue as such, but this ending is a very selfish ending, where everybody else is miserable, and only Hwi and Ji-Un is happy. If we were to follow Hwi's real character and personality, she would definitely opposed as to make everybody else suffer so she could lived her own happy ending. Yes I understand that she's been unhappy her whole life and she deserves her happy ending but not like this, by living somewhere at the ocean with Ji-Un. I would have expected her to forgo this and 'lived her own life, within her own rules and earn her own freedom' just because all these while she cannot do that, but the message of she can do it and she can be whoever she wants to be free, and the idea of being able to travel somewhere further than the palace grounds is stronger than love itself. Hyun and the Queen Ha-Kyung are miserable from this ending, not to mention Court Lady Kim and Bok-Dong is still in the palace. Ga-On too, being the head of royal guard - does it really solve the issue that his father was wrongly accused of treason? Was that cleared? But yeah, I guess fantasy just means Hwi and Ji-Un get to live their own happily ever after ~

@@ilomiloilo omgggg yes yes, honestly I like manhwa ending too~ I didn’t watch the drama, I only heard from mom (some of the part) and in manhwa the Hwi only has 1 love interest! And they made it complicated in the drama. (There was no such thing as tutor or whatsoever, it was the bodyguard all along!! I was expecting the bodyguard to be her love interest but they made it “potential”. So the cousin. I get it for the cousin (it could have been misunderstanding) but ehhh seeing Hwi tutor acting sus towards “him” at 1st is hard to watch.😅 coz they turned it into student teacher r/s.( I mean… nth wrong but stilll) but again this is my opinion😝 I think the director decided to follow “fans’ happiness” coz many of them “complain”about manhwa ending. But yea I totally agreed with ya( the ending should have been much more ermm realistic??) But the casting is good. I didn’t watch it only MVs ( because I feel so bad for the queen 😭)
