Working with horses I know how heavy a horse standing on your foot could be, luckily knowing this we all wore steel capped boots, I was certainly very glad of mine when a horse called Annie I was grooming thought it would be funny to stand on my foot, she was the horsey version of a comedienne, she knew exactly what she was doing as she turned her head looked straight at me and smirked I was also lucky she didn't put her full weight on it. I gave her a gentle push and she got off. Horse at full pelt I would imagine would be like being hit by a truck or train, but the people who visit aren't interested in treating animals with respect and care they just want a photo and don't care how they get it.

First of all, I think most of them know nothing about horses. Secondly, I think they rely on the rider to make sure they are safe during their precious photo shoot. Oh yes, there is also the matter of zero respect for the military!

I think he is a new soldier learning the ropes. He did tell that sheila don't touch the horse . He did voice the rules to her. Because she looks older she ignored him . Well done soldier for your courage. It will get stronger each time. There is a lot of manipulation from the father, which he has read "don't touch the horses, and stay out of the box. He didn't care as long he done his daughters bidding. The soldier has realised he has opened a can of worms, just hope that is the most valuable lesson he has learned to put that at the top of the list with duty of care. Looking forward to see this young man grow to be a fine soldier. Now Let this beautiful horse display his all mighty power. Let the games begin. I love Ormonde. Now this would build this young soldiers confidence with the tourists. This relationship between these two, hopefully will be the respect they both need . Soldier learns big time from Ormonde who is really really smart.

I don't understand, are the Guards not allowed to be really firm about boundaries. I hate to think they are too 'polite' to speak up. If there is to be rules ENFORCE them, some people take advantage of any inch they can get away with, ' one toe over the line' then their foot until they are right in the box. Glad I'm not there, I suspect I'd find my voice ..... I would love to pet the horses but am not allowed; to see other people breaking the rules and getting away with it would not just get my goat, it would be a whole #*××! HERD 😂

I can't decide if that guard doesn't have the guts to do his job or just doesn't care or maybe both. He always sits there like he's totally oblivious. The best guards to completely follow the rules are the female guards. They should have this guy doing something else coz he sure can't do this

The incidents that happened would not have occurred if the guard was doing his job, keeping people out of the box! 4:19 - Stupid woman allowed right back into the box after she was already in there trying to molest the horse once!! And then he thinks it's a good idea to let one person pet the horse?! How stupid! / 14:01 - Fortunately, they sent a good guard in on the left. Unfortunately, he has to try to clean up the mess the first guard made by allowing certain tourists into the box! / 13:58 - This woman likely saw the first guard allow a girl in to pet the horse and thought her daughter might be able to! I don't think it's a bright idea to allow certain people in and others not! No one should be allowed in! *KUDOS TO THE SECOND GUARD ON THE LEFT.*

I am ex Army. It is the Guards responsibility to enforce the rules. If the public choose to ignore them then as a guard it your duty to remind them of the rules. I am afraid in this respect either the NCos and OFFICERS are at fault for not giving the guards clear instructions. Ross (restriction of privilege’s or a £40 fine. He is a sentry and lookout for the entrance to Buckingham Palace. His job IS to scan the crowds and surroundings as first line of defense and alert. See that button on the wall? His military defense job is not primarily to babysit tourists but he has to do that also, which continuously distracts him from his primary sentry and gusrd duties. Hes not a play actor.

Yet another guard who doesn’t have the backbone to shout at the woman who obviously heard him when he said to get back. After coming back in the box again he should have yelled and abruptly moved the horse towards her like they used to when people held the reins. Somehow some of these Troopers have been emasculated and ignore bad behavior from the tourists. The only consistent Troopers are the female twins who understand and uphold the signs and parameters of the white box. I don’t care if the tourists can’t read the English signs, the picture of the horse is explanation enough.

It's not the guard's job to school stupid people who choose not to read the sign or view the picture sign. People need to show respect instead of being useless dummies. If they choose to stand too close & disrepect the guard & horse, then they deserve the consequences. Most times that is a bite from the horses Arnie or Ormonde or being yelled at by the guard. Those disrespectful people don't realize the horse can get spooked & people then seriously injured as a result!! SO DON'T BLAME THE GUARDS OR HORSES!!! Instead stupid people use your brains!!

Inaccurate heading the horse didn't move the tourist back the guard warned them and encouraged the horse forward, the horse wasn't happy true. How dumb and thick do you have to be not to understand that white lines formed into a box means stay outside of the line this is the horses personal space and should be understood and respected by everyone. We don't like anyone in our face so why should horses have to put up with it? The guard and the horse are on duty not on display they are real serving soldiers and not models from advertising agencies! Something that isn't explained anywhere around horse guards which is more than a bit remiss of HCAV! This should have been taken care of from the moment Horse Guards was open to the public! So it is no wonder the visitor think it is an amusement park with horse to pet and bother.
