What gets me is King’s X has been at it since 1979, they never attained worldwide success yet they’re still putting out albums even today. They may not have been as popular in name as other bands, but they definitely earned their respect from the music industry, who still puts them on albums, and from their fans, of course. Some have said that they sounded like a mix between Living Colour and Alice In Chains… but they were around long before those bands ever existed. They’ve earned their place in music history.

It's sad that after 20 years as a die-hard fan, I'm just now discovering "official" videos by these guys. I think they were victims of miserable promotion (mostly from Atlantic...I think Metal Blade has done an admirable job), and a sound so heavy, yet melodic that most people can't understand where they're coming from. .

Not to be "technical" but NO metal/hard rock band Ever mixed major and minor keys into a song like King's X did/does! It's Just Fkn' Teeth-Gritting-ly Gorgeous!

Alice In Chains did a lot of that but in a different way (slightly harder edge, not quite as melodic).

Agreed, liquidbraino! I've Always considered Alice In Chains' music & vocal harmonies to be (again) Gorgeous -- especially on the "Dirt" album. And Layne Staley was Easily one of the Best hard rock lead vocalists of All Time!

These dudes are the real deal. I've seen them 5 times and whether they're headliner or opener they always wreck anyone they're on a bill with. They absolutely destroyed Porcupine Tree when I saw them open for them and that says something. And then they're at the merch table after the show. These boys earn their money.

I met them in a club in Jersey about 6 years ago. They’re as down to earth as they can be. They acted just as excited to see me as I was to see them. It’s hard to believe a band which I consider to be one of the greatest of all time can be so humble and “normal” lol. It was like talking to my uncles or something 😂
