I have had the pleasure of seeing King's X on every tour since Out of the Silent Planet. Their sound is quite unique and has been one of the best sounding bands in clubs I have seen. After 403 different concerts and club shows I think I can state such with confidence and authority.

this is by far one of their greatest shows in the history of the band, little things get me here, "Over My Head" ... wow, right after Kevin (doug's friend) shot himself, ty's wedding ring... little things and big things... how life changes... it's like Life is Going By... couldn't help myself there... there is excellent quality copies of this available out there in the trading community, I had it converted from the original tape/feed back in the day
@rawtime3 жыл бұрын
well the ORIGINAL TAPE is in my hands since I made it - so I assure you your copy isn't from that :)
@davidkoblentz3 жыл бұрын
@@rawtime no argument here ! someone from the TV station sent me a copy, you could tell it was a pro copy not some bs from a trader, the envelope even had the TV station return address on it (and the quality... perfection)... it would have been silly to fake it back then... but either way, it was like watching a city limits shoot, the closeups on ty reminded me of the EJ shows... so if you filmed that or some of it... thanks 1000 times over... magic man... magic!

It’s funny, my Phish Head friend was just over my apartment tonight and I turned him on to Kings X for the first time, it was the Rock-Palast set from 1999 on KZbin ! I figured he would dig them, being that they’re sort of like Hippy Hard Rock/Metal/Prog, with the Beatles and CSN&Y like harmony vocals, and have a tendency to stretch out and jam live( but way less boring, long, and monotonous Jams as Phish, lol! ) I also told him Ty used to look like a total hippy and had long hair ( I mean, he’s gone back and forth from long to short hair through the years but when he wears the John Lennon styled round glasses, that’s when TY goes full hippy, lol! ) Sort of like this comment we’re replying to, i asked my friend if Ty was walking in his neighborhood, dressed and looking like he does in this video, would he have any inkling he was a semi-world famous ( although, Kings X should be way more famous/popular than they are especially here in the States! ) and shredding guitarist ( yet, Ty is still grossly underrated! ) In closing, my friend was absolutely blown away and loved every note from the opening riff of “Groove Machine”, the opening song to the ending of “MoanJam” the last song! I had a feeling he would dig them, at least a little, but I wasn’t expecting that sort of reaction! I love it when I can convert a friend/peer into a Kings X fan and/or a fan of other bands I hold sacred! I feel like a missionary, like the Kings X song, “Mission” off of “Gretchen..”, hands down, my personal favorite Kings X album! Spreading the gospel of the Kings Crossing! Sorry for going on a tangent, but I am very passionate about this band, obviously, lol!

Remember that fine operating system? Yeah, today IBM virtually does not exist anymore in Austin .. PSP division? Yep, that's called -- Lenovo now! Building 42? That's a hotel now in The Domain .. I actually met dUg Pinnick in '94 .. Standing right next to him at the Pecan Street Festival on 6th Street .. Said they just got out of the studio .. What was to become -- Dogman .. Guess who we were watching together? Yep, sister band Galactic Cowboys .. "Space in Your Face" tour .. Guess who's releasing a studio album in November for the first time in 17 years? Original line up .. That's right! The GCboys ..
