Flys for 7ish minutes without a tail rotor... I’m impressed. Lands on a roof without a tail rotor.. and successfully inserts troops, RTB’s and lands to get new chopper without a tail rotor... I Uninstall ARMA 3 and cry.

You can almost hear how disappointed he was when Chris ordered him back to base to get a new bird. Where's the challenge in that?!

@@headrockbeats yeah i recall the mission i think in arma 2 where he kept his completely battered and damaged blackhawk variant for the whole mission and was running out of fuel on the return trip. The mission where he was i think in a pinnacle manouver on the side of the hill yelling at the infantry to get in and was losing his mind..

@dslyecxi4 жыл бұрын
Oh right, I was meaning to look into that and forgot about it. I think I know what caused that - it's a feature we had to make awhile back to fix issues where someone would dismount and fly through the rotors. It must've kicked in there as well.

There was a period of time where people would disembark from a Littlebird and literally fly straight up through the rotors, destroying them in the process. These days it's more often them flying laterally, which is.... dumb, but not as big of an issue.

That (manual aperture adjustment - though in that case I'm reverting what I was testing) is something we've been trying out for terrains or situations where lighting is incorrectly configured. There's an upcoming video (from Iron Front, about Tarawa) where it was used to good effect. At one point during the dusk phase of this I was trying to find an aperture that would make it look properly dark, but we ended up just shifting time slightly a bit later once dusk was over in order to get the visuals the way we wanted. The way lighting configs are done on a per-island basis, combined with the "old" and "new" lighting styles, makes dawn/dusk/night... finicky, let's say.
