I think the reason why Offset didn’t chart is cause he has a really small fanbase, Migos have a big fanbase but offset and quavo barely have one individually. On top of the fact that the singles that he’s been dropping the last 2 years have been mediocre at best. But kudos to his team for doing amazing marketing for him, they’ve really nailed it out the park. I really hope that the album is actually good, so that the numbers can match what he’s pushing as well.

Not saying it's bad, but for this woman in particular, she isn't anything special, she just has a good machine/team. Fans gravitate towards personalities more than the "art" these days. If the "Culture" wants interviews with the people they want AND want to ask "Culture" type questions, they need to adapt or learn what's making them feel comfortable going the social media interview way. If someone can learn how to mix or adapt "Hot Ones", "Nardwar" and/or that Math Hoffa/Lebron James style of show into one. I believe that show would be able to get the "Culture" style content a lot of people would want, while keeping it fun and comfortable for these celebrities/artists as well as the fans.

Not just hip hop. Music in general is dying. Hip Hop is just getting the most attention because it's been relevant for so long. No other genre of music has artists that can crossover with streamers, gossip blogs and TikTok as much as hip hop. That's the only reason it remains relevant. Other genres of music haven't been able to adapt to a single change in the music industry in the past 30 years from Vinyl to CDs to Napster and then to Streaming

I don't think its needed as much anymore. Interviews from marquee hip hop outlets was like the only outcome to reach fans far and wide quickly. Now today, you got every content creator with their own amount of views that's going to make content for you soon as you announce music or just drop. I think social media culture is why we have a stale moment in rap. The established artist's business has the mindset for people to react than to build anticipation. (Other than say a release date just to not drop on said date)
