Kingbolen K7 Bluetooth OBD2 scanner review

I review the Kingbolen K7 bluetooth scanner. It has over 31 resets, and works on over 100 car manufacturers. It is bidirectional and can perform actuation tests such as: window, rear mirrors, sunroof, door, solenoids, wipers, headlamp, and fuel injectors to name a few. Some of the resets are: Oil /SAS/EPB/TPMS Reset, Battery Matching, ABS Bleeding, IMMO Matching, Injector Coding, etc. I like how the scanner is expandable and you can add things like a borescope to it. It is pretty fast, has auto vin, and a quick browser that can access the internet. I tested it on a Lexus and an Acura and it performed very well.

I have this K7 for some weeks now, but on Audi OBD connectors the VCI (the Bluetooth OBD dongle) doesn’t seem to fit correctly. Other brands (not so much, but had others) seems to fit ok. On Audis I have to push it on very hard, and it looses connection now and then.

I find the connection tight as well, there is a steel spring tab on it that makes it tight, maybe a little too tight. Maybe it prevents the thing from getting knocked off? I find it tight on the Audi and BMW.

You just use it on its own. I don't think you can use it with anything else, at least I have not.

Can I use it to change the map of my ECU and gain more power or economy?

I don't think it can do that, it sounds like you want to tune your engine. I think that must be done with one of those devices where you can buy on line tunes, or you can take your car in and they will change the ECU map based on dynometer settings.

Hi friend it seems very similar to launch crp 919E work the same, which one you like it more you tried both of them

Hey there, if I was sitting in the vehicle and didn't have to get out I like the 919E. But if I have to get out or walk around then the K7 is better as I really like the bluetooth. In terms of what they can do, they are both similar. I do lean towards the 919E as I had a Launch CRP429 before so I'm familiar with the Launch menu and functions.

@@ahmadlbl Yes they are great tools, this K7 did remind me of the Thinkcar, but I have never tested the thinkcar so I can't say. You really can't go wrong with either one.

Hey There, very easy, on any page you are on, or from the main menu just swipe down from the top. A menu will come down and you can video or use camera.

Not sure what you mean by mileage history, do you mean how many times the mileage was changed? Or the current mileage? The programming does vary between manufacturers.
