Gabe, I really enjoyed this video. I'm in New York City and I haven't camped out anywhere. However, I still buy camping gear in hopes that one day I'll venture out of my concrete jungle and enjoy nature. I did buy a cot from Teton. The darn thing was so heavy I needed a forklift. I gave it away, because it took a whole hour to set up and it was quite an ordeal to pack. I subscribed and I'm looking forward to more of your videos. Thank you.

Love seeing comments like this. As a fellow New Yorker who hosts camping weekends, I love it when folks step out of their comfort zone and get out there and enjoy nature to its fullest. I hope you were able to get out there this summer. Best, Allan

thanks for the video. Helped me greatly at finding a decision. Only negative is that you loose space you would normally have under a taller bed. But the mobility of the construction is just awesome. Cheers from germany!

Awesome, I have the king camp awning and it works great. Thanks for sharing. Clicked all the buttons for you. Just watched you guys in the Ouachitas. We spend a lot of time there also.👍

Thank you for the comment and all the clicks!! A new awning is the next item on the want list so good to know King Camp has it covered. The Ouachitas are amazing, we get out there as much as we can!

Great vid...was looking for a good cot... Vid reminded me of Marine Corps days in 80s...started storming...large river formed down the middle of our hooch...it was a cold wet long night...lol

I was unable to put the spreaders on like that. 5 ft, 64 yrs old and not strong. It was hell to get those on. Turned on the side standing up.

I've got a nice camp cot too but I'm curious what you think of the feet possibly tearing a hole in the bottom of the tent.
@orderofthetravelinghats236 Жыл бұрын
I had that concern as well, but I have had zero issues from that. The feet actually spread the weight around effectively. I can't say it wouldn't happen, but it hasn't happened to me, and I've been using the cot regularly.

@orderofthetravelinghats236 thanks for sharing. I'll make sure to use a ground sheet no matter what when using my cot. Hopefully that will help too. I loved having a cot on my last trip and I'll want to keep using mine for canoe trips and the such.

Man I started using a backpacking cot a while back. I'll tote the extra weight for the sleep I get on it.

They are certainly better than the ground!!!

Word of advice find a old blanket and cut a few squares for the feet to protect the floor of your tent

Sadly I ve own that model and it's a peace of ship . Brakes easy. Roll over and the side without spring clips will collapse . The side with spring clips those well brake .

I have been worried about that. But so far I have t had an issue. When it fails I will move to something else. So far so good.

Amazon says it weighs 8.8lbs. That's nowhere near ultralight. I have the Helinox Lite Cot which weighs 2lb 13oz and I use it when car camping, not backpacking.
@orderofthetravelinghats236 Жыл бұрын
It seems to be light enough for car camping for sure. It is much lighter than a traditional cot that would weigh in at 20 pounds or so. If I was going to use this for backpacking it might be a bit much, I would not use a cot for that anyways.

Here the issues 1) The plastic well brake on part that lock is place 2) the side that does not have lock will fold under you if you roll over. . I had 2 and return both of them because they broke . Dont buy them.

I that sucks. I’ve had the HD version for about two years now. It’s a little bit wider and also taller. I’m a big guy (6’3” and about 250lbs) I fit on the HD and it’s been solid so far but I admit I have had concerns about the amount of plastic in the setup.

9lbs is not light weight.

It would not be my choice for backpacking. But for overlanding or car camping it is very well suited.
