I liked the part where someone in the audience yelled "We want starless!" and then they played starless

Impressive, sublime, everyone's coordination is on another level, I never get tired of listening to this song, which since I heard it for the first time in 1976 has become one of my favorites.

First heard them in 1969 as a 5th. Form schoolboy whos best friend was a jimi hendrix fan. Lemmy. Bless him. Wonder what he is doing now. Anyway. Still now am an ardent lover of all their music throughout their history and still expect mr. Fripp to reincarnate them again. Hopefully. Have collected all their albums over the years as an when released including club membership. My wife thinks im a nerd but i cant help it. Sorry mr. Fripp but i have many bootleg vinyls (some very rare). In my collection and have enjoyed every minute listening to them. Seen them live several times and think the latest lineup was the best. Lets have more

Wordsless. Saludos

This could be the most perfect recording of this song. I haven't yet waded through the entirety of both the 'Starless' box set and the 'Road To Red' box set with what 40+ live recordings of more or less complete concerts. I do plan on it but I might be too old to this task justice.

My first concert!!! KC replaced Mahogany Rush to open for Aerosmith at BGSU. Fantastic ❤ It must have been early in the tour, I believe I saw Eddie Jobson instead of David Cross.
@pepperguy Жыл бұрын
Really? I never knew they played at BGSU! Was the show at Anderson Arena? Do you happen to have a date? (We named our daughter "Andersyn" after that building, BTW)
@digitalbookworm5678 Жыл бұрын
@@pepperguy It took a lot of research. Since I was a teenage pothead, I don't have a clear memory of dates. It was Anderson Arena, Oct. 12 1974. So I did see David Cross. One thing I clearly remember is him swinging his violin around by its cord. It made the strangest sounds. My friends who I accompanied to the concert didn't care much for KC, (They came for Aerosmith) but it was my first taste of cutting edge prog/rock and it has stuck with me my whole life.
@digitalbookworm5678 Жыл бұрын
@@pepperguy Further research indicates that Oct 12th concert was months after their last regular (US) tour date of June 1st and shortly before their return to Europe. So I was correct that it was Jobson I saw that night as Cross had left the band just after their June 1st New York gig.

Can anyone tell me what that silver bar is on the cover! I heard it’s some sort of studio recording storage system. Can’t find any info anywhere!
@supplican2 ай бұрын
Looks like just a thin metal plate embossed with those words. Presumably made for the cover shot.
@madcyril41352 ай бұрын
@@supplican From u.k. Thanks for your reply, I know it’s quite thick. But I think you are right, just made for the cover shot. I’m still intrigued though, but that’s me. I if you find anything out please let me know.

“The drummer” is Bill Bruford - one of the best, if not the best, drummers in rock.
