Visually, I think this will be one of the best-looking games, period. One thing I hope the devs work on with their next entry is the NPCs facial mocap/ animations. Its a nitpick, but when you see a world so absolutely gorgeous and hyper realistic as this, it kind of takes you out a bit when the characters have that uncanny dead behind the eyes look. I know not everyone can be Naughty Dog or Rockstar, but I think there's room for improvement there.
@8Paul719 сағат бұрын
They use mocap, and even performance mocap for cutscenes. But not for dialogue scenes because there are too many of them and since NPCs are dynamic (move around the world according to schedules and player can interact with them anywhere) it is not possible to handcraft the dialogue scenes like in e.g. Horizon or Witcher 3 (where all interactive NPCs are static).
@Ronuk199618 сағат бұрын
Facial mocap should improve with a larger budget for the 3rd game. First game had a budget of 35million second is higher but not enough to see the improvement. Ghost of Tushmia had a budget of 60 million and had these issues also. You need a Witcher 3, RDR1 or Last of us budget of 80 million. I can only imagine what warhorse could look like with a Budget like RDR2 or even GTA6. That would not happen but would be interesting to see.
@DerschwarzeRabe77718 сағат бұрын
@Ronuk1996KCD1 has a smaller budget than that. The number by Forbes online is not correct. The first game cost around 15-20 million. There is a czech article and interview about it. The second will cost around 40 million. I agree with your overall point though. Budget plays a huge role obviously.
@8Paul718 сағат бұрын
@Ronuk1996 KCD1 had actually budget of 18 million incl. marketing. That 36 figure was made up incorrectly by czech forbes. Second game has a budget of 42 million.

realism will be a greatest experience because the real world has deeper complexity than something imagined in someone's head. Because of the non-linear effects that create this stuff. One person can't think of a level of detail that a result of centuries of lives intermingling and problem solving. While fantasy can get inspiration from history and the real world it will only be a simplified version, and won't connect as deeply because there are no world forces acting on it. Everything you see in this game is from research of world forces and how they interact with objects. That's the revelation I had in the enjoyment of a simulation experience that I didn't expect I'd have. You walk into a space, and I spent time even just looking at objects, because there is a real world logic to all of it. I've never done that in a game before, and I think it's because I recognize it's just an object created by a 3D modeling artist. It's not real or has any story to it. An object in this world, like a cupboard, I look at it and the construction and think of how many years people spent redesigning it. You see these details that you wouldn't see in another game because other games like fantasy often lack a clear source material, so there's inherently less complexity

You can play in german or czech at least..
@tadeasfridrich497919 сағат бұрын
That would be quite difficult to do. The old Czech was pretty different from today's Czech language and they would need to find lot of sources of grammar etc. Then you need the actors who would have to learn how to speak these old languages properly. Now imagine doing this not only for Czech language, but also for German, Polish and others. And in the end, the worldwide fanbase wouldnt really care that much if the characters are speaking old or new Czech, because They wouldnt be able to tell the difference anyway.

Obviously a medieval city works well as a setting for a video game. It was built for people and walking after all! Warhorse really does a great job at depicting the environment of medieval bohemia, even if they do not have the same luck with depicting the societal and human element i still hugely enjoyed the first game, while hoping the second one might improve in that aspect.

They did but is more nuanced. The camera does not lock you into one target so fighting multiple opponents is more fluid. Also the sword is still full of combos and tricks you can try but, if that is not your thing you can pick up an axe or mace and just bash everyone over the head. No technique needed there, just brute strength.
