Return the items to Kairi. After the cutscenes, Sora will be surrounded by heartless. Your wooden sword won't affect them. Go to the bridge to find Riku(the same spot he was in the beginning). You will now have the Keyblade.
With the Keyblade, you can now fight off the heartless.
