James Arnold Taylor did a great job voicing Jack, but you can still hear James's very distinct normal voice in there. Even Ratchet's voice is pretty much James's normal voice. Just like how Seth MacFarlane does Brian's voice on Family Guy, using his normal voice, not changing it at all.

I think it's a product of tetsuya nomura wanting to make Disney worlds more "connected" to the universe by using those concepts a lot of the time. This is very clear on the Toy Story World, for example, whereas in KH1 Sora is just looking for his Friends, no organization at sight.
