It's all about playing the games he wants to play. Let him dictate the fight. You just have to beat him at his own games. Otherwise, not too technical of a fight.

One other bit of advice when he surrounds you with cards he will speak. If you block right as he finishes speaking you will always block the 4 cards.

You can also use shotlock to watch his card move across the floor and know where he is every time.

Smart... I never thought of that, I was getting beat up with the ultima keyblade as the animation drag a slight too long and hits the wrong card XD

I remember doing this blind on my Lv 70 file when the DLC was new. Thinking "Man, I must really have missed something, this DM is taking forever. What do I do?" Now, researching before my Lv 1 PRO Codes fight, I think "His DM will kill me from boredom"

I found that it helps to have your lock on reticle on the cards with circles before you tap the attack button. And you only really need to tap it once. If that doesn't work for you, remember that you lose the card game only if the cards come to a complete stop. Let the cards slow down a bit before you hit them if necessary.

@@curtissicks9739 Okay, does your strength stat effect how much damage you can do to Luxord when his guards down? Or does the time bar chip down against your attacks the same amount no matter how high it is? If yes I might try and Max it just so I don't have to pay the games quick so many times.

@@AliceT3a From what I have noted, having extra strength helps but very minutely. I will say that I found 2 other openings since posting this both of which don't require you to play his games. 1st: When luxord is throwing single cards at you, the last set of three he throws can be countered and lead to combo if you position yourself so that the counter comes out right next to him. 2. When he surrounds you with 4 cards that collapse on you, you can also counter that and lead into a combo if you position yourself so that the counter comes out right next to him. That should help significantly if you are having trouble with the fight.

Few opening miss : -When he does the move when 4 cards surround if you are close enough to him, you can actually block and counter this will stagger and you can combo him there (doesn't work with Counter Kick however cause Counter Kick is to slow to catch him). -When he does his Card Pillar mod you can actually catch him before he hit the ground and he is open for combos. Also a little theory but that I never put in practice but when he does the mini game where you have to found him, it's actually possible to follow his card during the shuffle, you need really good sight tough but if you don't lose him you can just go directly for him instead of having to hit the circle, my theory is it might be possible to use the Shotlock aim to try following since while you are charging the Shotlock everything is in slow motion, might be possible to abuse this to find him that way.

Tbh the hardest part about these 13 vs the data battles in 2 was integrating the shotlocks. Several bosses require it for you to win like terranort.

Are those elemental moves always thunder or other spells as well? Because I've seen people do it without hitting them with spells and just dodging the cards that are on each side of you, which almost seems easier to deal with.

Not always. I've seen some runs require fire and I wouldn't be surprised if other elements were included. My guess is that the spells have to cover a set area around you rather than being a single projectile. Rolling through them is not all that difficult either you're right.

Even that I still can't beat him yet (I still need to work out in my defensive manouvers, and boy... beating Vanitas drained me a lot last time), this fight is so far my favorite of the Data fights because is a overall departure for the usual look for an opening (yeah, is possible to do it in this fight too but... that's no fun, I prefer to to play Luxord games instead).

Do you ask all your questions in a condescending manner? In the future why don't you try reformulating your questions so that it makes it easy for me to answer you politely. For everybody else: You find the cards with circles on them by running around and looking at the cards. The ones that don't turn away from the camera, especially when you are panning behind them, are the ones that will have circles on them. Anybody who has bothered to actually attempt the fight would know that.

I did finish the fight and I did figure it out and it’s just frustrating that many youtubers don’t properly explain what they talk about most of the time, not just you.
