The Final Fantasy series goes very much with Latin. Kingdom Hearts, as his younger cousin, gors very much with Italian. Now these two franchises made me fall in love with these languages!

During Middle ages, Renaissance, age of Enlightenment up until Romanticism there was no single language: the peninsula had many different languages known as "volgari"(vernacular languages, because they were not latin), which still exist today in the form of dialects. Italy finally accomplished unity during the "Risorgimento" (in Italian, age of resurgence, going from 1815 to 1871), thanks to many wars against the several monarchies and states reigning in that period (and from a linguistic standpoint, thanks to many scholars, such as Manzoni). So you see, there are almost twenty centuries of history between current Italy and the Romans, so that's why I couldn't get your point.

Questo succede per due semplici motivi. Primo, che le voci sonoramente parlando sono basse rispetto alla musica, e secondo e più importante che i cantanti non sono italiani. La maggior parte delle parole sono storpiate e quindi non facilmente capibili. A peggiorare le cose poi in certi punti le voci non sono sincrone e andando per conto loro si mischiano ancora di più.
