I recently started playing the kingdom hearts series again. This is the first time I really noticed this song and just how beautiful it is.

Don't get me wrong; I loved doing the musical games; a good kind of different pace. But, the world they chose it on was intriguing. They took a beautiful and massive battle place and dumbed it down to a musical mini-game optional world that you could only complete really until the end of the game. In KH1, you could go to Ariel's secret place, battle a shark at a sunken ship, and even fight at Ursula's hideout. In KH2, you only get where you came for the first time and the palace. Not so good.

I like the first Atlantica because there was more to explore and more heartless to beat the crap out of. It was a favorite world of mine in KH but with it in KH2 as just a basic set up, it kind of lost its charm for me.

My issue is the mini-game wasn't fun or challenging. The timing on whether or not it registers a "good" or "great" is broken and then button presses aren't in rhythm with the music

I mean, besides the fact it was one of the best worlds in KH1 and now it was dumbed down into a musical minigame level? KH1 Atlantica had so many good areas to explore, like Ursula's lair, the sunken ship, outside the palace, etc. For this game to take that and only allow you to a limited space of like two or three areas in this world was a bit of a letdown.
