One of my favorite parts of KH was at the end of Chain of Memories. Riku: What are you making me choose now? Yes! I totally think the same, the one at piano collections seems so off to me, but whenever I hear this version, it's so different, I really can sense Riku's essence and feelings, it's totally magical and beautiful!. (P.s. Sorry for my English!)

I’m not too familiar with the games but I thought Riku got an immense inner conflict. I play the piano collections right now and I think it fits so well. Displays hope anger and loneliness. I like this one too but the piano collections are very precise imo

This is my favorite version yet. It's different then any version I've heard, and I've heard a lot! You can almost hear Riku's struggles for redemption. You can hear his dark moments and then his fleeting glimpses of the dawn he's striving for... Sorry I just went all freaky and dramatic there but that's what I think whenever I hear this theme, especially this arrangement. Thank you for sharing it with us. :)

Gorgeous piece. I downloaded it to my cell phone and I can't stop listening to it. Riku is one of my favorite characters from the game, and this arrangement just speaks to me; not to mention that the sound of a piano captures me into a trance. I used to fall asleep at night while listening to this too. It's so soothing and almost like a lullaby to me.

Before Chain of Memories Riku seemed meh to me. But as I watched him overcome the darkness and become one with both light and darkness, I started to really become affected by his character. At that point i'm like "Holy crap, you have one of most deepest and human personality this game has..."

i totally agree! Yeah at first I had thought he was a great character to begin with and I have noticed even greater potential and story arc as I go on. and it is just amazing!

Riku has one of the best character arcs that's for sure, but I feel like so many people be sleeping on Saïx. His character is so deep. I'm Days, he's in second command of the organization, despite being the seventh member, because he was a babysitter to a group he didn't choose to be in. The only way for him to become human again is for him to work hard in the organization to capture hearts so he could finally get a heart. Besides maybe Xemnas, he is the only one who puts effort into his job. When he sees Roxas, the only way of getting hearts, leaving the castle in days, he must unleash all his inner rage in order to stop him, because it he didnt, he wouldn't have completed his goal. He beat Saix, and his purpose was destroyed. (Btw that's why Deep Drive is my favorite music piece in Kingdom Hearts). When he dies in KH2, he reaches for Kingdom Hearts and says "KH, where, is my heart?". He put so much work into Kingdom Hearts and when it was almost upon completion, he perished. All the work he did up to that point was worth nothing. Thats why he's extremely deep and also my favorite character.

This arrangement is amazing! Simply amazing! Riku's my favorite character in the whole series, so I love listening to his theme, and I found several versions. Personally, I like this version the best--excluding the original, 'cause you know how that goes... XD Yes, I have listened to Riku - Scherzo e Intermezzo, and I still like this version better. :D It's much simpler... if I ever try my hand at piano again, this would be my goal. I already kinda know the notes, since I've played it on my flute, but I still might have to change some stuff... Well, back to my point--amazing arrangement! This a really awesome, Riku is my number one favorite Kingdom Hearts Character of all time! I think the reason why I like Riku so much is not because he's a cute, I think it's because how he went to the darkness and worked himself on trying to get out of the darkness, and back into light. But in the end he found out how to use both to make him stronger. He has such a strong story and past, I'm not saying Sora's story doesn't but Riku's story is amazing! I wish they brought him more in the KHgame
